SnugLife Heated Riverfront Campsite
Beautiful property, small issues
Beautiful property with the river so close. It got down to 30 degrees at night and even snowed and we were still toasty warm with the wood stove in the tent. We cooked in a pan on top of the wood stove and it worked great. Went on a nice hike under the power lines and along the river. All in all, would recommend staying here. That being said there were a few things we didn’t love during our stay. There are holes at the top of the wood stove with just a few rocks covering them so the smoke was able to pour into the tent. Once the chimney of the stove was warmed up and there was a good draft it wasn’t too bad, but I can’t imagine patching the stove top with some flashing would be that difficult. When we arrived there was trash on the ground including a used tampon and inhaler. That was the first thing we noticed and it kind of gave us an icky feeling, wondering when the last time it was cleaned. The host said he didn’t get around to cleaning it before our stay. Lastly, we opted for the $25 charge for a wheelbarrow of wood. It didn’t last us through the first night and was not full. We got a better bang for our buck at the closest gas station the next morning. The hike in and out was flooded and not easy with a wheelbarrow so logistically it made the stay a bit harder. Better off bringing your own wood and really filling the wheelbarrow and only needing one trip. Small things that can easily be fixed! Overall we had a fun time. The location really makes this place great.

Winter Wonderland
We had an amazing trip! 28 degrees overnight and 14" of powder, but the tent and stove kept us warm and dry. The site was very private and we loved that it was right on the water. The wood-stove worked great with our stainless cookware. Keith was a great host and took care of anything we needed.

Nice Spot by a River
Great location with no one around. Right on a river and and can imagine what it would have been like if we were here in the summertime even more fun! Would recommend this to anybody who likes to do real camping but maybe does not have quite the time to do so. Would definitely go back.

SnugLife Clearing Riverfront Access
Peaceful getaway!
Five stars recommended. It was as described a five minute walk down and a 10 minute walk up. There was a peaceful campsite waiting for all six of us. It was fun splashing in the stream and making food on the grill. Great for first time campers. Owners were very hospitable, pointed out edible berries, brought us water and, offered chopped wood. Take those bad reviews with a large chunk of salt !!

Babbling Brook and Toasty Mornings
Perfect riverside camping spot. I brought with me my husband, 6 year old and dog. I would agree will all things previously said about the hike down. It's actually not as bad as I had prepared myself for and a good trade for not camping in someone's back yard which I've done plenty of. The trick is pack light. It's worth asking in advance what is needed and not needed. The site was very buggy but as soon as I put bug spray on, I was perfectly fine. The site was very clean and welcoming. You do take a nice deep breath in the second you walk into the site. My favorite part of the whole stay was waking up in the morning and sitting by the wood stove in the tent knitting. My 6 year old keeping my yard straight and my husband and dog sleeping. We let the sunrise and stayed cozy just hanging out and bonding. I usually run out of my tent in the morning when I camp so this was a nice moment. I also wanted to add that we spent some time exploring Purgatory Falls which is about a 10 min. drive down the road and that was amazing! Because I brought a kid I took advantage of the Wilton Goss Pond non-member rate of 5 dollars and was able to sit back while he ran around enjoying what I can only describe as a community GEM for families (I may have gone down the waterside...) Really enjoyed our time.
