This was our first time using hipcamp and overall it was a decent experience. As other reviews have mentioned the site is less private than expected. There are a handful of little cottages/cabins on the property that are fully visible from the site. The bathroom was shared but nice and clean. There was also an outdoor shower that was nice. It definitely felt just like setting up a camp on someone’s lawn. I feel like it was kind of overpriced for what it was, but it was a good location and available when we were booking. It is an interesting property with a unique host. We wouldn’t stay again, but overall it was quiet, clean, and had a bathroom.

Overall it was okay. It was as flat where we were and he had bathrooms. It was frustrating because it says campfires allowed but he said no. He has one fire ring where it’s a community one and he has to be there the whole time. He said you couldn’t even smoke (which is fine I’m not a smoker but thought people should know that are ahead of time). He never offered us a place to shower. When I asked about the electric I was told he was busy but he showed me an outlet on his porch which clearly would run to our camp. There was a big pile of dog poop at our site but I’m not sure that was his fault people were camping with dogs in his cabins. Would I go back no, but do I feel bad writing a negative review yes bc I never have lol. As far as I am concerned no fires are allowed, there’s no electric, and no showers so that should be changed for sure.

Our stay at Alan’s property was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us plan activities around the area. The property is in a wonderful location and very well maintained. As an added bonus, the first night we stayed the property was hosting a concert that turned out to be a great time. Definitely will stay again if we’re ever in the area.

Steep and not private
The property where we were to camp was too public and was very hilly and steep. A farmer’s market was being held on the property (that was not listed in their calendar) and folks parked their cars where we were supposed to parkiur 16’ trailers. The host was rude on the phone and was not there when we arrived - and we gave him advanced notice if our arrival time. We had to ask others, staying in one of his cabins if they could contact him. After about 20 minutes, young man, who then was to greet us, was on site was very understanding and sweet. We could not easily drive on the steep driveway and could not level the trailer enough to camp there. …and with an unpublished farmer’s market going on there was No privacy. We expected something very different from the Hipcamp description.
