Hawks Hideaway Camping, LLC

17 sites ¡ Lodging, RVs, Tents7 acres ¡ Cottonwood, AZ
We offer various camping accommodations, as well as a teepee. See our different listings for info on each. A few choice examples of local activities to do on or very near to our campsite include: Bird watching, hiking, river rafting or tubing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, horseback riding, stargazing, and even rockhounding. This area conforms to the Arizona Dark Sky initiative, and while we are not dark-sky certified, we've had several guests compliment us on our location. When it comes to rockhounding, or amateur geology, this is a fantastic area for exploration and study.  The cliff walls of the Verde River offer clear and distinct sedimentary layers, and the frequent flooding of the massive sandy riverbed reveals countless undiscovered treasures. We gladly welcome pets, including horses, as long as the guests inform us of their presence, and takes care of all their needs, including cleaning up any mess. There is a professional horse-boarding field and stables adjacent to our property, and a long pleasant trail allows horseback riders to follow the Verde Greenway into Old Town Cottonwood if they so desire. Please remember that this is a natural and secluded spot located directly adjacent to the state-maintained Verde Ripparian Greenway and the Verde River. This means you may encounter wildlife and pests associated with being in such close connection to nature. Be prepared to tuck your food away and bring ample protection from the insects.

Karla's Hummingbird Rd. Guest Ranch

6 sites ¡ RVs, Tents8 acres ¡ Huachuca City, AZ
Welcome to Karla's Hummingbird Rd Guest Ranch! I am located just over an hour away from Tucson, AZ. I purchased this property in 2020 and I have worked hard to turn it into something that others can enjoy! We are 10 minutes from Coronado National Forest. Enjoy spectacular views from the mountains, wander through the desert among the giant saguaro cactus and colorful wildflowers in the morning, linger over lunch beside a mountain stream or lake, and play in the snow all before the day's end. The property is tranquil, peaceful, and quiet. We have beautiful sunsets and views all around. You might see a lot of birds or quail on the property. My neighbours and I all have 4 acres minimum so no one is super close by. You can come here, walk or bike around, and walk your pets without being bothered by other dogs. This is a very safe and comfortable place for solo campers and families to enjoy! Each camper, tent, a place where people sleep is a campsite. Please don't book one tent site, say you have 2 vehicles, then the other vehicle is also a camper. That is TWO campsites. Important! Please don't post any photos of my place on my listing or in your review. I can't remove them, and they are usually bad photos. They are not helpful and they might show equipment I'd rather not have posted. Thank you.

RV camping in Arizona guide

Overview

With Grand Canyon National Park in the north, Saguaro National Park in the south, and a wealth of attractions in between, Arizona is best seen on an RV camping trip, giving you the freedom to go wherever those hot desert winds take you. Arizona RV parks and RV resorts near the Grand Canyon can be unsurprisingly full, but RV sites south of the park on the way to Flagstaff still provide access to the South Rim and its views of the Colorado River far below. On the eastern edge of the state, Lake Havasu offers boating and swimming, while RV campsites in the middle place you near the high-desert terrain and red-rock landscapes of Cottonwood, Sedona, and Red Rock State Park. Further south in the Tucson area, go hiking among large saguaro cacti native to the Sonoran Desert. Full hookups aren’t the norm in this area.
