Tips for Snagging a Campsite Reservation
- Reservations can be made at the Amicalola Falls Lodge website or by phone.
- If the campsite is full, try Diamond Lure Campground, a 15-minute drive away.
When to Go
March and April are the busiest camping months at Amicalola Falls as many hikers arrive to embark upon the Appalachian Trail: if planning your visit for this time of year, be sure to make your camping reservations in advance. Otherwise (while the park is a great place to visit during any season) fall, when the leaves burst into reds and golds, is especially attractive—visit during the week to avoid the weekend crowds.
Know Before You Go
- You can pick up supplies in East Ellijay, about 12 miles away, at the intersection of Clear Creek Road and Highway 52.
- Bringing your own firewood is prohibited, but you can pick some up at the Visitor Center and in the lodge.
- Pets are welcome, as long as they remain on a leash.
