Local's Life

We have a nice little RV pad on the back of our coastal home. Situated on a little bayou that opens out into Choctawhatchee Bay. Crab Island is only a 10 minute boat ride away. You would have access to our small dock and there is a neighborhood boat ramp less than one hundred feet away. This is a great place for kayaks, wave runners, and small boats. If you don't have a boat, we can set up any kind of trip you want. We are all licensed captains and own multiple Crab Island businesses. We have a 32' sailboat that has been in our family for 3 generations and our oldest son runs charters on it. You can charter our pontoon boat for as many as 6 people to take you to Crab Island as well as some other spots that only locals know about. We can also accommodate up to 2 people on an inshore flats skiff targeting redfish and trout on light spinning gear and fly rods. The neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Fort Walton with large oaks and magnolias providing plenty of shade for bike riding and walking. Downtown Fort Walton with its shops and quaint restaurants is only a mile away. Didn't bring a bike, we have 2 you can use. The site comes with water/sewer and 30 Amp hookup. The sight can accommodate up to 43' for trailer and vehicle.

Overview

Known as ‘Hub City’ for its convergence of I-10, US 90, and SR 85, Crestview has many services that cater to travelers, including those in RVs, big rigs, and campers. Crestview itself has multiple RV parks and RV resorts with full hookups, wifi, laundry facilities, and other amenities. But with its proximity to Gulf Coast beaches and excellent parks, Crestview is much more than a comfortable layover. The nearby Blackwater River State Park has pet friendly RV campsites that include picnic tables, fire rings, hookups, and restrooms. You can swim in gorgeous clear spring water at Ponce De Leon Springs State Park. And it’s less than an hour from Crestview to the Gulf of Mexico and beachside RV camping sites like Henderson Beach State Park and Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. Paddlers will also find public boat launches on the Yellow and Shoal Rivers right in town.
