We have been a family owned RV Park/Campground for over 40 years. This is a very rustic, old-fashioned campground located at the end of a neighborhood next to the river.
As mentioned this is also a RV Park so there will be RVs on site. It is an open field campground dispersed with trees. Neighbors will be present.
The river access is right over the levee just a few minutes walk from your campsite. Fishing on the river is allowed but you need a license.
We are near the woods and river so wildlife is present. Please make sure your food is put away nightly to discourage critters from coming into camp.
The campground is just a short drive from a selection of hiking or biking trails. As well as other attractions like the Jet Boat Tours and Trees of Mystery.
Located at the end of a glen cell service in this area can be spotty or non existent depending on the carrier.
Wifi is available near main house but is limited to emails, messaging and mapping your next adventure.
We welcome people of all seasons. Just ask that you are kind and respectful
to each other.

August and September there will be fisher persons in the campground. So be warned of early morning engine noise as they head out to the river for fishing. Electric cars that want to charge there is a $10 fee at time of service. Must make arrangements ahead of a time because 50 amp services are limited. Plus you need to bring your own adapters.

The Redwood Stumphouse

Similar to a treehouse, The Stumphouse sits on an elevated deck wrapped around an old growth Redwood stump and is surrounded by large Redwood trees. The site is a short walk uphill from the parking area. Please feel free to ask about access before booking or review the photos section for pictures of the path if you need more details. The Stumphouse is large enough for 2 sleeping pads inside and there is space on the deck for one more, however please note that the deck is not covered. A quick walk downhill brings you to our family's farm (where farm products are available for purchase, see below) and above the stump house are logging roads and acres of forest land. Neighbors are nearby but not visible due to the lush environment and large neighboring acreages. The air is clean and fresh as we are 5 miles from the ocean and surrounded by forests. As far as history, our land was logged in 1915 and several old growth stumps are scattered on the property as evidence. Since then the forest has regrown and the young trees are already hundreds of feet tall. A twenty minute bike ride or five minute car ride will bring you to one of two nearby towns, and spectacular beaches are also close by.
Eureka, just minutes to the south and Arcata just minutes to the north offer dining and entertainment of all kinds. Farmers markets, movie theaters, live music, boat tours of Humboldt Bay, breweries, wineries, cider companies, roller-derby and more, there is always something fun to do in the area. Outdoor walks and hikes in both the forest and along beautiful beaches and coastline are abundant. Patrick's Point State Park and the town of Trinidad 15 to 20 minutes drive north offer some of the most breathtaking coastal views and beaches in the country. With 6 rivers, 3 lagoons, Humboldt Bay and the ocean nearby there are almost always opportunities for great boating and fishing. If gambling is your thing there are 3 casinos just a 10 to 20 minutes drive away. If you would like directions or advice on things to do please feel free to ask us!
Fresh eggs, cream top cow milk and yogurt can be purchased in the barn when available as well as soaps, salves, tinctures and hydrosol, all produced right on the farm!

Overview
Situated next to the Trinity River and surrounded by the Six Rivers National Forest, this small mountain town in Humboldt County is known as the “Bigfoot Capital of the World.” Go in search of Bigfoot along the Bigfoot Scenic Highway, raft, kayak, tube, swim, and fish in the nearby rivers, hike, bike, and look for wildlife in the surrounding national forests, or head to the coast for ocean views and towering redwoods. Camping options are diverse, spanning RV parks and cozy cabins to private and public riverside campgrounds and campsites near the ocean or underneath the redwoods.
Where to go
Willow Creek Area
In addition to private campgrounds and RV parks, several Six Rivers National Forest campgrounds are close to Willow Creek, including the year-round Boise Creek Campground, with access to Trinity River and Willow Creek and the seasonal East Fork Campground. Camp year-round at the Denny Campground along the New River in Shasta-Trinity National Forest, with easy access to the Trinity Alps Wilderness. Several campgrounds can also be found along the Klamath River, further north.
Along the coast
Willow Creek is only an hour from the Pacific Ocean. Explore the artsy seaport town of Eureka, the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge, and the Samoa Dunes Recreational Area and camp at the Samoa Boat Ramp County Park. Head north to Arcata to go clamming and stay overnight at the Clam Beach County park. Further north, explore the coastal headlands at Patrick’s Point State Park, and spend the night in a tent or RV.
Redwoods State and National Parks
Further north along the coast, explore the majestic redwoods at Redwoods National Park and the adjacent Jedediah Smith, Del Norte Coast, and Prairie Creek redwoods state parks. The parks offer several seasonal and year-round tent and RV campgrounds, along with year-round camping cabins set in redwood groves, forested meadows, and coastal bluffs.
When to go
Summer is an ideal time to visit Willow Creek, to take advantage of its proximity to so many rivers. Spring and fall also offer pleasant weather for other outdoor pursuits. Visit in July for the Taste of Willow Creek summer festival and early September for the Bigfoot Days, a celebration of all things Bigfoot related. Fish for salmon in the Trinity River in the fall and steelhead in the winter.
