Welcome to a great balance of being away from civilization, engulfed in nature with peace and quiet yet also being 30 minutes away from the nearest city. Terra Vivus is Latin for "The Earth is alive." Chipmunks, crows, doves, crickets, coyotes, sparrows and many other creatures call this land home. This is protected land called a Significant Ecological Area mostly because of the thousands of Joshua Trees. 25% of all revenue goes to restoring, preserving and enhancing the existing ecosystem. Come experience and contribute to the preservation of this beautiful landscape. It can be windy at times, in order to mitigate this I recommend using your car(s) to block the wind. Local markets also sell neck gaiters for face protection. Release your inhibitions to wind! There's about .4 miles of dirt road to get to the property, there are some dips to watch out for but I come out here in a little Prius so it's manageable. Overall, there is an element of seclusion but occasionally people do drive by on the dirt road. I would rate the cell phone service a 7/10, it's pretty solid but can go out at times.25% of all proceeds go towards restoring, preserving and enhancing the existing ecosystem. This is a general dispersed campsite with two communal fire pits that can have up to 3 groups at a time. If you would like the entire property to yourself, please let me know and select the option as an add on feature. I will block the other sites if possible or refund you. Feel free to park anywhere that seems convenient for you. As a courtesy, I usually let all groups know about each other but do not share personal information. A good amount of seclusion in the general vicinity but every once in awhile someone might drive by on the dirt road. I've camped out here over 20 times and never had an issue with safety. The coordinates will direct you to the NE corner of the property. Feel free to park at the corner dirt roads and walk in or turn left from 150th at the little solar light and wooden sign towards the outhouse and fire pit. It can be windy at times so you'll want to anchor your tents or use your car to block the wind from the fire pit or tent. You can buy a neck gaiter for face protection at local markets in the area. You can walk along the dirt road and explore more of the area but off the dirt road are other peoples properties. The outhouse is the SW corner of the property. Please be mindful and courteous to all other living creatures and plants in the area. This is their home.

Loved it, but wind was mind blowing
Absolutely beautiful views and perfect for pups off leash! Loved my stay here with my dog. We went on nice flat walks and enjoyed the plentiful Joshua Trees. I have mixed feelings about recommending it to BEGINNER TENT campers because of the wind. I’m an expert tent camper and was still “blown away” by the wind (ha). But seriously, you MUST stake down your tent in at least 6 places (I did and 2 of my stakes ripped out of the ground) and use your rain fly to protect the inside from flying dirt and debris. It was tough to get a fire started due to the wind but not impossible. If you’re coming out here to sleep in your trailer or other vehicle, the wind is no problem.

Thank you for your place Mason!
It was a time of complete satisfaction from start to finish: a quiet and private space, a beautiful sunset followed by stars that seemed to pour out at night, the pleasant chirping of birds at dawn, and the morning sunlight that melts your body. However, since it can get cold at night, if you are planning tent camping, make sure to prepare well for the cold weather!

This our second time staying here. Mason as always, is an amazing and communicative host. The grounds were immaculate and the skies were clear. Quiet, remote, serene. We are always looking forward to staying again. We will see you again soon!!

Secluded and Peaceful
Great secluded location. Easy to find and quiet. Some light pollution from Lancaster, but not bad. Count not hear any traffic from the nearest highway. We paid extra to reserve the entire site. It's worth doing that if you don't want to potentially share a fire pit and toilet with other campers. I had to search a bit for a tent spot to avoid any hills, but was able to find a good spot. No problems with getting stakes in the ground. It was a bit windy, but not too bad. We didn't have dogs with us, but we got burrs on out shoes/socks...which could be a concern for dogs' paws. Great clear, friendly and prompt communication from the host, Mason. Overall, I highly recommend this site if you want seclusion from other campers and people in general, and I suggest paying the extra fee to reserve the entire site.

This site is well maintained (most noticeably the outhouse) and Mason gave very clear, easy directions. It perfectly served my need for a night outdoors. It’s quiet and surrounded by joshua trees. Definitely some light pollution, but the stars were better than in LA! Be warned that the wind is no joke. Dust got into everything and anything not weighed down got blown all over. However, the firepit is well built so getting and keeping a fire going was no problem. There are also tons of ants. Not sure what kind, and I didn’t have any issue with them, but there are so many you kind of get itchy just seeing them. It’s camping, so neither of those were beyond the pale, just sharing the full experience. I would happily stay here again.

Great spot on mars
Just the basics on site but if you are looking for a middle of no where, carry-in carry-out private spot it is perfect. 10/10 would go again.
