Mountain Meadow Reservoir

An interesting tale of conservation and restoration, Mountain Meadows Reservoir lies in the mountains within Lassen National Forest in Northern California. As recently as 2015 the reservoir ran completely dry resulting in the death of thousands of fish. Mountain Meadows Reservoir has undergone an incredible process of revitalization in just a few years. Once a cautionary tale, the reservoir is once again healthy enough to pull trophy-size fish from its depths. Surrounded by some of the best camping in northern California, Mountain Meadows Reservoir is an essential stop when passing through either Lassen or the nearby Plumas National Forest.
