The title says it all this property is truly A Unique Mountain Retreat that will give you the peace, quiet and tranquility you are looking for. An energy efficient Uniquely designed home that is off the grid and has a very green footprint with solar and windmill to charge batteries. Oak and pine tree covered acres with fitness and nature trails around the property. Each level campsite with picnic table is designed for privacy with plenty of distance between sites and mountain views in every direction, along with an optional gas log fire pit and BBQ. There is plenty of clean, non potable drinking water, custom built toilets and optional hot showers, limited electrical use, cell phone charging and low power use devices as I am off grid. There is a fitness and nature trail on the property and Pacific Crest trail is approx 20 to 30 min drive, Mountain park which has many miles of hiking trails and an Indian reservation with hikes to many petroglphs. Things to see are the World famous Tehachapi railway loop, historic downtown, vineyards, mountain spirit center a Buddhist temple, glider rides, bicycle riding and fishing. There is cell service around the property but not at the campsites.

Beautiful views
John and his 20 acres are beautiful. We had a lovely spot, a beautiful morning walk and learned some great information about the place he built. Everything is perfect. All the spots for camping were well thought out for privacy. The glamping place is gorgeous along with the two Airbnbs. We definitely highly recommend staying here. Enjoy!

Quiet and loads of stars
Super quiet at night of sleep. A private hiking trail about the property with great views. A very accommodating host and many amenities such as two outdoor showers, two bathrooms, outdoor sink for dishes, power and loads of tables in the common area. A really sweet out of the way spot.

Quiet and stars
This is a very cool spot! Gas fire pit, nice picnic table and the quiet is so peaceful. Though we didn't stay long enough to hike the property trail we hope to next time!

Part Magic, Part Genius!
John's entire property is a lifelong labor of love, and it shows, from his spectacular hilltop home, the luxurious rentals, the glamping cabin and the growing number of natural campsites. Privacy was a big deal to me and Brooke - and we had it! We enjoyed beautiful black skies under white oaks, yet Johns sites can be equipped with all of the car-camoing conveniences one might wish from, from grills to fire pits. It would be a shame to not get a tour.of the utility systems from John during your stay. Perhaps more than ANY place I have ever stayed, Johns sites (and home) truly demonstrates how one can completely live off grid, but without sacrificing any modern conveniences. His power system, in particular, is a pleasure to see and learn about. We actually stayed in campsite 8. This out us adjacent to the communal area, but it still felt plenty private thanks to a spectacular oak tree that formed a low canopy over our picnic table. Some sites directly accommodate cars (as ours did), while other sites require a short hike in with your gear, but you can also get additional privacy that way. A large sink basin with hot water in the common area made cleaning our cookware a snap. We also paid the modest fee for the hot showers, and were very glad we did. Low clearance vehicles are likely fine to get to the property, the last couple of miles are on dirt, so phone ahead to make sure if you arrive soon after a storm. Can't wait to stay here again!
