Peachey Ranch retreat, Arizona

The Peachey Ranch has been in the Peachey family for over 50 years. The Peacheys have grown hay, raised hogs and black Angus cattle and lived a rural lifestyle in this beautiful part of Arizona. Most people are surprised at the terrain here in Santa Cruz County, the mountains and vast vegetation is unique to southern Arizona.. We have milder summers and cooler winters. Birdwatching, hiking, biking, stargazing and the abundance of wildlife make for and enjoyable stay. The village of Tubac, the wineries of Sonoita and the Mexican border crossing are additional attractions.

Fort Necessity is located in southwestern Pennsylvania, which was the western frontier of America at one time. Little more than a stockade to enclose animals, the fort was George Washington's first taste of battle as a 22-year-old colonel. This would begin a cavalcade of events ending with the British surrender at Yorktown.) The national battlefield here marks a turning point in American history. Step back into history when you visit the mission located at this national historical park. Start with the movie at the Visitor Center. A well-written booklet accompanies your self-guided tour, so you understand what you're looking at. In this park you're allowed to enter the buildings, so you get a full experience. You'll get a good sense of this region and understand what it was like to live in an early settlement like this.

22 miles away hidden away in the rugged hills of southeastern Arizona, Patagonia Lake State Park is an excellent spot for camping, boating, fishing, and just enjoying nature. Patagonia Lake was created by the damming of Sonoita Creek and is now one of the best fishing lakes in the state. In addition to housing a healthy population of largemouth bass, crappie, and sunfish, rainbow trout are stocked regularly from November through March.
