Camping near Petrified Forest

We did not find the camp spot, only locked gates across the road. Ended up parking in parking lot near the south entrance to the park.

Camping near Petrified Forest

SCAM!!!!!

DO NOT BOOK THIS CAMP! The entrance road has been barricaded in at least three places and is impassable. After about 20 min of driving around the closed entrance I got to the “site”. It’s just bare land with a few scattered RVs. There are no markers, property boundaries, and just a pin dropped on a map for you to navigate there. I tried several times to contact “James” and never received a response. I’m pretty sure he has no ownership or right to this property and is allowing people to trespass unknowingly. Save ourself the $30 and get a real camp site! The only good thing is that the area is beautiful.
