Our campsite is equipped with the necessities: a firepit with a removable grill, a large table, and your own private outhouse with a composting toilet. Trails leading from the campsite will usher you short distances to our best stargazing hilltop, for playing in the shallow creek running alongside our campsite, as well as shaded forest and ridgetop views. Our pond, equipped with a dock, ladder and seating is a favorite short 7 minute hike for swimming, fishing, or simply relaxing. For longer hikes, any trail will connect you to our larger network of maintained trails over hill and dale, through shaded forests and open (mowed) pasture trails and farm-life views across our 80 acre farm. To make your packing lighter and your stay more comfortable, we offer the following "extra items" at an additional cost: - Firewood bundles (unlimited) - 5 gallons of water (or less) in jugs with handy pour spout - Charged battery pack with plug and USB receptables - Stringed twinkle lights - prehung (we do the hanging before you arrive) * must be ordered with our charged battery pack or bring own power source. If you are looking for a party you found it. We have no quiet hours, we do get loud and have a great time on the weekends. Its not uncommon for beer pong or card games to go into the early hours. Not the best idea to bring small children to a rager but were open to all ages and backgrounds, anybody that enjoys making friends and having fun on the lake. All guests must sign personal injury waivers to cover our 6. So about the property, its 120+ acres with a 5 acre man made lake that features blue waters, a beach area and tikibar. We have atv trails, private camp sites and group sites. Enjoy the day floating in the clear blue water, fishing (separate pond) or hiking. Our lake also features a launch pillow for blasting your friends up to 20 ft in the air! We also have inflatable cabanas on the water for rent if you want some R&R. Learn more about this land:Sleep in a 1985 VW Pop Top Vanagon! With top up, two can sleep below and two can sleep above, though we personally prefer using the upper space for storage. Van is outfitted with a small solar system, enough to charge phones, a lap top, lights (provided) and a fan (provided). We provide clean bed clothes for the bottom (main) bunk. Bed clothes are not provided for top bunk but there is a 1.5” pad. In necessary weather, we provide a Mr.Buddy propane heater as well as appropriate bed clothes. Van always has a carbon monoxide detector and extinguisher available. Feel free to set up a tent or hammocks. Two 5 gallon buckets are located behind the van, you can relocate these wherever you feel comfortable. One bucket is outfitted with a toilet seat lid, the other is filled with saw dust and a bag of TP. Please use this for waste as we have a running humanure composting system. Please also dispose of food waste in this bucket, with the exception of excess oil or meat, please use the small shovel to adequately bury this or pack it out.

The Campground is just a 8 min drive from downtown Jackson, where you can stop in and sample some of their locally famous places! If your feeling pizza, then you have to try Cardo's or, LaRosa's Pizza, If you want some good local BBQ, hop on over to Rowdy's Smokehouse. If you want to try a Western themed Roadhouse, there's Dakota's, or you can relax by listening to some live music while you eat over at Stockroom 601. The idea for creating a cabin rental/camping vacation getaway in the Allegheny Mountain Range came to life over several meetings at a Bob Evans restaurant in Columbus, Ohio, between co-owners Paul and Christy Liimatta and Joe Boffo. Joe had been accumulating land in the Genoa, West Virginia, area for several years and had dreamed of building cabins, tree houses and uniquely designed vacation rentals and campsites on a beautiful area called Hampton Ridge. Big Laurel is a working cattle farm on land that has been in our family for 4 generations. The farm consists of 370 acres of bottomland pasture along the creek and quiet woodlands where you can explore jagged rock cliffs and beautiful vistas. The woodlands are undergoing transformation as we continue an ongoing forest rehabilitation project to return our land to its natural state as a deciduous hardwood forest. Spotted on the farm is an amazing abundance of wildlife including wild turkeys, white tailed deer, pileated woodpeckers, bobcats, coyotes, foxes, bear, and red tailed hawks.
