This off-the-grid tiny house is nestled on a 23 acre parcel at the end of a quarter-mile dirt road. The property itself is secluded but is less than 2 miles from the heart of Saranac Lake's downtown. This property is bordered by the Saranac River, the backside of Baker Mountain and State Forest. The only other building on the property is our timberframe which we may or may not be at during the time of your visit. The property does have private trails up to the cliffs on the backside of Baker mtn however, the Saranac River is down a steep embankment so it does not make for a good place to launch a boat (several public boat launches nearby). The Mt Baker tiny house is a great basecamp for hiking the Saranac Lake 6-ers, paddling/boating along the Saranac Chain of lakes or Saranac River, Mountain Biking at Dewey, Pisgah or other nearby BETA trails. IMPORTANT DETAILS: This tiny cabin is completely off the grid: no electricity, heat or cooling. Queen sized bed - we provide the linens. The driveway is narrow - so nothing in tow. Drinking water is provided via jug and dispenser. There is a brand new outhouse (no flushable toilet) We have a designated spot for campfires (smores are a must) There is an older propane grill outside for guest use

Camp Unirondack

Unirondack is located on a 9-acre plot of land on a small peninsula on Beaver Lake in the Western Adirondack Park in Upstate New York about 30 miles east of Lowville, NY. We acknowledge that we are humble stewards of land previously occupied by the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, specifically the Mohawk and Oneida Nations. We are roughly 90 minutes north of Utica and 2.5 hours from Syracuse.The camp is comprised of 10 cabin buildings of various ages, most original t0 the property from the 1920s. We have a large presentation/theater space, a small recording studio, a field for large group activities or sports, a gaga pit, a swingset and small basketball court, a large two story Adirondack-style lodge with fireplace, and a large heated dormitory-style building. Our maximum sleeping capacity is around 150 although our dining hall only seats 120 at a time. On the lake we have a boathouse and a beautiful artshop studio space. Our boathouse has 14 canoes, 10 kayaks, and 2 sunfish sailboats and we have a small beachfront with a dock and swimming area. Additionally we have a large campfire circle which can seat about 100 people.

"Lindsey W. writes, "This is my new favorite spot. I had the BEST stay at Cory's tent amongst the pines. I couldn't have picked a better place to do some solo winter camping. The tent is easily accessible and is fully stocked with kitchen supplies, lanterns, and necessities. Between what I brought and what was already there, I was living quite luxuriously in the woods. The wood stove works beautifully. I stayed very warm in the tent (it was 80 degrees in there!) while the outside temps reached a low of -15 degrees. Beautiful location and excellent host. Cory made sure I had everything I needed. I already look forward to another stay here." William K writes, "The place is great. The wood stove kept the tent warm overnight. Also had plenty of firewood for 2 night weekend. Location is excellent all & the propane grill outside is a plus. Would stay again." Eric F. writes, "Cory's Camp in the Pines is awesome! My daughter and I stayed here for a few nights and loved it. The tent is great- clean, dry and large enough to walk around in freely. It's got distinct 'areas' which made it cozy- a wood stove area to sit by, a table with chairs to eat or play games at, a fully equipped kitchen area to cook at, and a sleeping area with two beds (full and twin) and some cots. Everything we needed was there, from cooking gear to utensils to cut and stacked firewood. The stove kept the interior really warm even when the tempts hit the low 30's outside. Outdoors had a nice fire pit, some chairs, a hammock, and total privacy. The outhouse was crazy clean, and even had a little LED light for those night visits. As others mentioned, you could faintly hear the highway but it quickly fades into the background and you don't think about it. Cory was an awesome, attentive, and responsive host. Finally, we were at trailheads in the High Peaks in 35 minutes. All in all, we couldn't have asked for anything more- we loved it and we'll be back! This property is the fulfillment of a life-long dream. I first was introduced to this area thirty plus years ago when I visited a nearby hunting camp. This is a place where you step into the pages of a calendar and are surrounded by peace and tranquility, yet the beautiful village of Schroon Lake is only a handful of miles away if you want to visit the public beach or local businesses. It's also surrounded by thousands of acres of state land- in fact, you can walk out of this site right onto endless chunks of public land. While this camp is off-grid and a bit rustic, it offers you an opportunity to live the dream life and experience the Adirondacks to the fullest. Learn more about this land: This camp is conveniently located right off exit 28 on I-87. Your home away from home is a 14x17' Cabela's canvas wall tent camp on a wood platform. You will be situated on two acres of forest abutting thousands of acres of state land. The beautiful village of Schroon Lake and its public beach are just a few minutes drive away as well. This camp is equipped to be used all year. You and your family will be high and dry regardless of the weather. Enjoy the ambiance of a large Vermont Castings wood stove and stay warm on the crispiest days and nights the Adirondacks has to offer. Sit out under the stars on a cool night on the front porch or next to your private campfire. Nearly everything you need is provided. The camp is even equipped with propane for cooking and lighting and we’ll provide some dry firewood. Cooking utensils are also available as well as a bunk bed/futon that doubles as a couch, and two cots. There is also a kitchen table with 4 chairs. If you’re looking for 100% satisfaction in the Adirondacks, look no further. The only thing you’ll need is your sleeping bag, pillows., and some food. We look forward to serving you. Bridgeview Harbour Marina

Bridgeview Harbour Marina is a family owned and operated full service marina on the Adirondack shore of Lake Champlain Established in 2020 the Marina provides seasonal and overnight slips and moorings to boaters, fisherman, and lake-goers in addition to camping and an on-site cafe. The marina is set on 33 acres along Lake Champlain and hosts ~4150 feet of lake-frontage. Prior to becoming a marina in 1989, the property was home to a very large Iron Foundry, rail yard, and barge-loading operation known as Cedar Point. Cedar point, part of the larger Witherbee-Sherman Mining Company, operated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries smelting iron ore to be shipped throughout the world via the Lake Champlain Canal and Hudson River, and is credited with providing iron to some of America's leading projects at the time. Overview

At the heart of the Adirondacks, Long Lake has an outdoor adventure to suit all tastes, whether you prefer forest walks, water sports, or backcountry mountain hikes. There are myriad ways to get on the water—BYOB (bring your own boat) or join a dinner cruise or seaplane flight, paddle the lakes and rivers in a kayak, or zip along the shore on a jet-ski. Miles of Adirondack trails provide opportunities for hiking, as well as snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in winter. State campgrounds and private campsites dot the shores of the 14-mile lake, or go backcountry camping around neighboring Raquette Lake.

Where to go

Western Foothills

West of Long Lake, a string of lakes run through the heart of the Western Foothills, hemmed in by lowland forests and wilderness areas. There are options for RV campers around Old Forge and Inlet, or you can seek out remote backcountry campsites throughout the Moose River Plains. To the south, hikers exploring the West Canada Lakes Wilderness Area can camp in tents or shelters, while nearby Indian Lake has island campsites open throughout summer.

High Peaks

Hiking nirvana lies east of Long Lake. This mountainous region is home to the 46 Adirondack ‘High Peaks’, the tallest of which—Mt Marcy and Algonquin Peak—reach over 5,000 feet. Backcountry hiking and camping in the High Peaks Wilderness Area is a thrill, but come prepared, as trails are rugged and there are no developed campsites.

North-Western Lakes

North of the High Peaks, Saranac Lake is a bustling hub for campers, where you can enjoy water sports in summer, woodland walks in fall, and snowmobiling in winter. Reserve early if you want to camp on the lake’s islands—they can book up months in advance. Further north, the Saint Regis Canoe Area is a forest-fringed wilderness where you can paddle through the wetlands and camp out at primitive sites reachable only by water.

When to go

May through August is the busiest season at Long Lake, but the lakeside town is open for business year-round. Come in summer to swim and boat, in fall to admire the rainbow of foliage along the forest trails, or in winter to hit the ski slopes. Many campgrounds in the Adirondacks are open only from April through September, but RV camping and backcountry camping is possible year-round.

Know before you go

Long Lake has grocery stores, restaurants, and shops selling camping and fishing supplies.
Tick season runs from April through September in the Long Lake region, so cover up when hiking and check for ticks after outdoor activities.
There is no fee to enter Adirondack Park, but state campgrounds charge a fee, and many require reservations. A New York State Fishing License is required for fishing.
Backcountry camping is allowed on state forest land through Adirondack Park, but camping is not allowed within 150 feet of any road, trail, or body of water unless otherwise marked.
