My wife and I went there to stay the weekend, we loved that and we are definitely going there again! Angela and Arnold are awesome hosts! We felt super welcomed to their place. The place is lovely and seems that it has come out straight from a storybook, the birds that come at our hands, super relaxing and intimate. They have a nice bbq, the space is well organized and clean, and have everything that we needed to just relax without worries. If you are wondering if you should go there’s or not, take my word, you are gonna love it, please go. To Angela and Arnold, thank you so much for the great conversations and laughter, we felt like we’ve known each other for a while!

The little cabin in the woods. Fairytale setting and birds that make anyone feel like Snow White. Amazing hosts and tranquility beyond expectations. Very clean, and close to Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls. Would recommend this for anyone wanting peace and unplugged time away.

Weekend Trip to Spirit Ridge Acres

We absolutely loved our stay at Angela and Arnold’s little cabin! The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable weekend getaway: electricity, a microwave, a mini fridge, and a spotless, odour-free toilet. The barbecue worked perfectly, and the cabin itself was cozy and well-stocked with blankets, a pull-out sofa bed, tea and coffee, cutlery, and utensils. Angela and Arnold were fantastic hosts—friendly, helpful, and always available when needed, yet respectful of our privacy. They even took us to see the animals on their property (horses, bull, and chickens) and to feed the chickadees, which was such a special experience. The location is ideal too—just a short drive to Bobcaygeon, where you can enjoy some ice cream or relax by the lock. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly!

We loved this cozy little cabin and waking up to the peaceful forest sounds and sights. Angela and Arnold were very welcoming. They were friendly and great to have a chat with. We even got to meet their horses Sugar and Holly! Just a lovely piece of land to spend a couple of nights on.

Overall we had a fantastic experience at Angie and Arnold’s property! Angie and Arnold are excellent hosts, they welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived. From helping us carry our bags to our bunkies with a wagon, showing us the animals on their farm, and sharing a campfire with us, we felt truly grateful for them. The bunkies themselves are also great. Everything was spotless and it had everything we needed. Even the composting toilet was way beyond my expectations. No smell, perfectly clean, and non-potable running water to wash hands with! The location of the property is also ideal. Close to town but far enough to have very little cell signal and truly disconnect. There was just enough signal to get a text through, which is all we wanted. Was great to be able to drive about 15 minutes to Fenelon Falls and about 10 minutes to Bobcaygeon, we were able to enjoy the shops and get lunch during the day and come back to our cozy bunkie for a bbq dinner and campfire. We’re definitely going to be back, it’s truly excellent spot for a weekend getaway.

The bunkie at Woodland Hideaway is really, really lovely. It is nestled nicely in the woods (a mostly cedar forest), within a short walk to your parking and the hosts’ home. Angela and Arnold were excellent hosts and checked in on us frequently enough for us to know they cared and were taking care of us, but not too much that we felt our space hampered. Would highly recommend staying here.

My spouse and I had an amazing and unforgettable two days. The location was perfect — right in the forest, yet so close to the city center. It’s definitely a must-visit for nature lovers.
