Lanthorn is situated just north of Wakefield Quebec surrounded by forest, creeks, waterfalls, and hikes with views of the surrounding area. Our farm grows willow for basketry and living structures. We can also arrange to teach a weaving class for a fee. To learn more about our farm, you can visit Lanthorn.ca. On the property, there is also a large pottery studio which offers classes that you can book in advance of your visit. To do so, you can visit muraiceramique.com for details. We are home to a deer refuge founded in partnership with the Humane Society Canada which cares for a herd of sika deer rescued from a zoo closure. We also raise a small number of chicken, and sheep.

We have sheep, chickens, ducks, and a miniature donkey, who we look after now that we are retired from our dairy farm. Neil has a great place 30 minutes away from Gatineau! U get plenty of privacy on his property. We've enjoyed the sound of the water crrek at night. There is a wood heater inside the tent so the temperature was not too cold in mid october. There is a grocery store 5 min from the camp.... Very convinient. Would recommend!

Great campsite, great adventure! The Trail Blazer and River side camp is worth the adventure if you stay for more than 1 night. We hiked a bit further past the trail on a big rock by the water - It was great! Very peaceful & secluded. The owner Gerry is nothing short of incredible, quite the character and extremely kind! Gerry is a great host. And his land is a gem super close to Ottawa but with the feeling of being in wilderness. I’ve been camping there for 3 years now and every time, I have such a great time and my friends who joined me were so happy to be there. The fishing is so fun there, I’ve never got disappointed with fishing there, I’ve got Walleye, sea bream bass, pike, stone head, carp and catfish there. If you like fishing, this place can be fun to explore.
