This property was purchased nearly half a century ago. For the majority of this time the forest section you will be camping in was left undeveloped, apart from a few mountain bike trails. Recently, as a family, we have seen a large increase in the people traveling to the Sunshine Coast to escape the city limits. Unable to rock up to a campsite and pick our spot like we used to, it was easy to see a growing demand. We have taken everything we love about camping and done our best to give you a sense of what life on the Coast is really about. Please note: By entering onto the property you release all liabilities towards us as hosts. You are choosing to camp in a forested area that contains many hazards as well as potential threats. These include but are not limited to; Wild life (bears, bob cats, cougars etc), Fire is a serious threat to this region during summer months strict no smoking policy is in effect. Surrounded on three sides by lush, moss-draped forest and bordered on the fourth by the stunning Chilliwack River, it’s a true nature lover’s paradise. Enjoy a spacious riverside beach, great for swimming during the summer and fall & has world-class fishing. The area features Class I–IV rapids, ideal for whitewater kayaking, with Chilliwack River Rafting just minutes away. There isn't river access at the sites. The stairs to the beach are through the covered picnic shelter. There is now a light wire fence along the river in riverfront sites for some protection because of the drop-off & undercut banks (not shown in the pictures). We have an endless network of trails and logging roads, perfect for ATVs (ride directly out of our gate), hiking, and biking. We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning. Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway. We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas. There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

The bathroom is, frankly, a fairy-sized wet room – Lucinda is economical like that. It will give you a decent shower though and we provide bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The toilet is flushable, and we provide RV toilet paper that is made specifically for our RV plumbing system. The water heater works well and heats up pretty quickly. However, it is a standard RV water heater which means you'll have about 5-6 minutes of hot water until it heats up again. The shower head has a stop button to control water usage while you are showering. Lastly, please do not be surprised that Lucinda is small; she is small. However, we find her to be a comfortable resting place. -Guest access- You may use the outdoor areas located directly outside of the RV but please respect the area around the adjacent private residence as off limits.

Along the way are mossy knolls with vistas of the valley, ocean, and Vancouver Island. One trail leads all the way to Burgyone Bay. The belle is an off-grid seasonal tent with electric candles for lighting and a composting toilet. At night there are solar string lights--should you want them--which illuminate the path to the tent. On clear nights, turn the lights off to star-gaze through the branches.

Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway. We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas. There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

However, it is a standard RV water heater which means you'll have about 5-6 minutes of hot water until it heats up again. The shower head has a stop button to control water usage while you are showering. Lastly, please do not be surprised that Lucinda is small; she is small. However, we find her to be a comfortable resting place. -Guest access- You may use the outdoor areas located directly outside of the RV but please respect the area around the adjacent private residence as off limits.

Enjoy our comfortable mattress, pillows, and high-quality linens. Towels, toiletries, and a clothes steamer are provided for your convenience. You can adjust the thermostat to your liking, and the MaxxFan air vent works like an A/C on summer nights to keep you comfortable. Lucinda has a small table for meals or working on your laptop. The bed is a small full-size bed and can accommodate one adult or two slender adults who like to be close together 😉. You can stretch out comfortably at a length of 6’3”. Due to the size of the trailer, it may not be suitable for children. There is not currently a TV, but you will have access to WiFi, so be sure to bring your laptop to cuddle up and watch your favorite shows or movies in bed! The bathroom is, frankly, a fairy-sized wet room – Lucinda is economical like that. It will give you a decent shower though and we provide bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The toilet is flushable, and we provide RV toilet paper that is made specifically for our RV plumbing system. The water heater works well and heats up pretty quickly. However, it is a standard RV water heater which means you'll have about 5-6 minutes of hot water until it heats up again. The shower head has a stop button to control water usage while you are showering. Lastly, please do not be surprised that Lucinda is small; she is small. However, we find her to be a comfortable resting place. -Guest access- You may use the outdoor areas located directly outside of the RV but please respect the area around the adjacent private residence as off limits.

In a cedar grove, nestled among the ferns, a lotus belle tent awaits you. A unique bed and breakfast in an off-grid tent. Inside the belle tent there is a comfortable double bed with clean sheets, plump pillows, and a warm Pendelton blanket. A 'west coast homestead basket' with granola, fruit ,and farm eggs is provided for a nutritious breakfast. A Berkey water filter provides delicious water from our mountain well. The belle is an off-grid seasonal tent with electric candles for lighting and a composting toilet. At night there are solar string lights--should you want them--which illuminate the path to the tent. On clear nights, turn the lights off to star-gaze through the branches.

I loved my stay in Michael's Woodland Cabin. It was the perfect blend of tiny house living and camping. The outdoor bath under the stars and short hiking trail in the forest through lush ferns and moss made my stay even more special! Perfect spot to unplug completely (or even sneak in a little work while enjoying the view of the mountains and reliable internet, to boot). Add in the easy check-in/out, quick responses to questions and friendly host means I will be back!

What a perfect stay! Michele was a lovely host and the cabin was in such a beautiful, peaceful spot. I loved the vibe of the cabin, cosy with the option to make a fire (loved chopping wood), and lots of cosy dvds' and vhs's to watch on the couch. The cabin also had its own privacy (its far enough from the main house & has its own driveway) which was perfect for us. It's located in a super convenient spot too, probably the best part of the island to stay - right next to a few cute shops, coffee carts and a restaurant while still being tucked away in the woods. Also next to a lovely hike. Would highly recommend!!!

We had an amazing stay at Michael’s place! The cabin and the bathroom were super clean and well maintained, which made our stay very comfortable. The whole property is peaceful, surrounded by beautiful nature, and you can really feel the care and love put into every detail. This was a pretty great little spot. The cabin is small, but it had a good setup with a hotplate, sink, fridge, & microwave. There was a big very comfortable mattress in the loft. The bathroom wasn’t too far away across the parking area and it was well maintained, with a flush toilet and a sink. Everything during my stay was very clean. I walked down to the lake, and it was about 10 minutes on a nice trail through the woods which meets up with the main road just before the lake. Property has a horse, goats and other animals. It’s quite a nice place, the host was very friendly and I will definitely be back in the summer.

We had such a great stay in this cozy trailer! It was super clean, bright, and had everything we needed for a comfy two-night getaway. Leah and Wayne are amazing hosts — communication was super easy, and we were so grateful that Leah provided a high chair when we asked, which made things so much easier with our little one. The cats were the sweetest and always around for unlimited pets! The mountain views were beautiful, and with the trees just starting to change colors, I bet it’ll look even more stunning in a few weeks. The only small challenges we had were getting the water temperature just right and the bedroom skylight making the room quite bright, which made naps a bit tricky for my baby who’s used to sleeping in a darker space. I co-sleep, and the bed is fairly high, but bringing a bed rail worked perfectly. Overall, we had a wonderful time and definitely recommend this trailer, especially for families with young kids. We’re so grateful for the experience and would love to come back!

We stayed in Alder site #2 for 2 nights. The smaller the site number, the closer you are to the porta potty, water source, and petting farm (very cute animals!). All the sites are just on the same mulch road, a few meters apart. The site was nice and scenery very peaceful, though it was a bit small we still managed 2 large tents and a shelter for the rain. but it got quite loud at night as you could hear animals in the distance, and a lot of barking (neighboring areas, not on-premise dogs) Overall we had a wonderful time and are grateful that spaces like this exist not too far from town.

Mixed Barrel Farm is a hidden gem. Our family of four had such a wonderful, relaxing time at Leah's farm. Leah & her family were very welcoming. Leah is a very considerate & kind host. She communicated detailed instructions & provided all the essentials for a comfortable stay. She provided farm fresh eggs & gave us grape tomatoes from her vegetable garden. We enjoyed our one night stay at this lovely secluded campsite in the forest! Andrew was so welcoming and kind and we loved chatting with him. We appreciated the thoughtful touches like the solar lights. The outdoor shower is super cool - we weren't brave enough to use it on this chilly weekend, but it would be sooo lovely and refreshing in summer time! The Orpington campsite is situated a good distance away from the house and other sites, so it feels secluded and private. We slept really well on the soft ground. Overall, would recommend and would definitely stay here again in the summer time :)

The outhouse (cute, clean) and shower were close to the site. Sandra was friendly and the eggs were delicious! Location was perfect. I will definitely go again.

The property is beautiful with an amazing forest and stunning lake. Brent was very helpful (never met Sherri). I definitely wouldn't have booked the site if I knew it was up a steep driveway with about 3 switchbacks. I was driving a fully loaded old camper van pulling a small motorcycle trailer (also loaded with motorcycle and totes) and it was hard on the van, also had to back up and jackknife the trailer on a couple of the switchbacks. One suggestion I have (and already mentioned to Brent) is if they mark clearly on their main bio of the land that their driveway is not recommended for any kind of bigger units. Also if its wet, 4x4 would be better. Luckily it was dry when we arrived. I read through their page and didn't notice the one smaller spot they mention about the driveway. Brent was very helpful and also offered to pull my trailer down the driveway the next morning for us and that felt very supportive so he definitely made up for it! Haha. Thank you so much Brent for your kindness.
