Hi we’re Glen and Lisa Oostema – the proud owners of Oostema Farmstead, a working farm located a short drive from Lynden, WA.

You will roam the 117 acres. We have raspberries and field crops that surround the Farmstead.

 You will also find our herd of cattle as we raise Grass-Fed Wagyu here on the Farmstead.

We have loved sharing our home, and the Farmstead with many guests, turned friends, from all around the world! It is indeed our priority to provide a comfortable, beautiful, and peaceful space for you. But most importantly, we hope you will find rest and relaxation close to nature with a glimpse into a slow living pace, and we hope to share that experience with you through your stay.

1 pet per RV (no dogs in tents) and must adhere to our rules, ask us for more information.

Custer Family Glamping ❤️

Hi!  Welcome to Custer Family Glamping!  We are so glad you are here ;)
Our 10-acre property is located in Custer, WA in the Northwest corner of Whatcom County.  Custer is an easy 20-minute drive to Bellingham, 10-15 minutes to 2 coastal beaches (Birch Bay and Semiahmoo), and only 10 minutes to Blaine and the Canadian border.  
We love to host our friends and show people around our beautiful slice of the PNW🌲

We are a big family, so we designed all of our glamping sites to be kid and pet friendly and big enough to fit families of 2-6.  A little luxury and ease for the grownups and a magical nature experience for the kids.  Kids are allowed to "just be" here.  Cellular reception isn't great but no one seems to notice.  Not when they are busy building forts, roasting marshmallows and climbing up tree houses.  

The intention infused into all of our spaces is a Hygge* (pronounced hoo-gah) vibe.  *Hygge is a calm, comfortable time with people you love.  The absence of frustrations; often enjoyed with warm drinks, cozy blankets and candlelight or a fire.❤️

County Noise Statement: We love living in rural Whatcom County and we know land owners in our area love it too. In fact, their enthusiasm for the great outdoors is so high that sometimes they can generate sounds that will travel throughout the day. These are likely sounds you are not accustomed to hearing in a traditional neighborhood.

Distant noises such as:
-county shooting range located a few miles away
-tractors
-mowers & chainsaws
-ATV vehicles
-barking dogs
-farm animals (goat, horses, crowing roosters)
-wild animals (early morning bird song and owls at night)
-children laughing
-adult voices
-train horn

Evenings are generally very quiet and peaceful as night falls with the exception of holiday weekends as the enthusiasm for owning property in the country may ramp up ;) We tell you all this in order to be fully transparent about noise potential.  If the potential for noise and the nearby shooting range will be a damper on your glamping experience, no worries! We totally get it! Our place is probably not the best fit. If you want to bring your kids to a place where they can build a fort, take a break from their screens and build family memories over a campfire, then you will love it here! And we look forward to seeing you soon.

Campers (glampers) have access to this quaint little outhouse with a composting toilet and sink (foot pump water).  

Our "room" was tidy and cozy when we arrived.

Incredibly comfortable bed that was perfectly warm on a cold spring night. The bunk bed cot was also perfect for my two little boys.

Tamihi Meadows Cabins & RV Park

SELF-CONTAINED UNITS ONLY!   ***PLEASE CONFIRM IN YOUR REQUEST TO BOOK THAT YOU HAVE YOUR OWN TOILET & a pop-up change tent to put it in if not in an RV.  (You can dump it before leaving - let the host know in advance).

We strive to provide a place to enjoy the peace & quiet of nature, so it's not a place to party or have music loud enough for any neighbours to hear.

Nestled in the heart of the Tamihi Recreational Area, just 20 minutes from town, our property offers a rare blend of seclusion and adventure. Surrounded on three sides by lush, moss-draped forest and bordered on the fourth by the stunning Chilliwack River, it’s a true nature lover’s paradise.

Enjoy a spacious riverside beach, great for swimming during the summer and fall & has world-class fishing.  The area features Class I–IV rapids, ideal for whitewater kayaking, with Chilliwack River Rafting just minutes away.

There isn't river access at the sites.   The stairs to the beach are through the covered picnic shelter.  There is now a light wire fence along the river in riverfront sites for some protection because of the drop-off & undercut banks (not shown in the pictures).

We have an endless network of trails and logging roads, perfect for ATVs (ride directly out of our gate), hiking, and biking. Whether you’re seeking adrenaline or tranquility, this property offers both. 

ATV's are idle in - idle out only.

QUIET, well-mannered, leashed pets are welcome if you pick up after them.

LONG WEEKENDS are a minimum of 3 nights.

CHILDREN MUST be accompanied by a parent at all times!   

FIREWOOD is $9. for a large feed bag full & is available between 8 AM and 8 PM.  

BEEF and EGGS: We have grass-fed Black Angus beef for sale and we occasionally have eggs from our pastured chickens.

Our free-range kind, gentle horses also wander the property.  Any interactions with them are at your own risk!  The gate must be kept closed because of them.

Get close to nature on a 40 acre farm homesteaded in 1929 by Pauline and Earnest Weatherby, who raised their 2 children and 40 foster kids.  Located 6 miles from the Canadian border, Mt. Vedder horse trail is 3 miles away, Nooksack Falls and Mt. Baker are 22 miles, and Silver Lake Park with swimming, fishing and boating is 7 miles away.  A Nucanoe and 2 electric bikes  are available, see details.  Dog supplies, eggs, homemade jellies/jams/dried fruit and seasonal produce available to purchase. There's a big dog park, large undulating meadows, and lots of woods and wildlife.  Tent and RV camping. WiFi and water available at the dog park.  Chickens and ducks, a vegetable garden, flower gardens, and fruit trees on site.  We can provide insight into small sustainable farming, fruit processing, and seasonal canning.  Your hosts are Rich and Kathleen and our 5 labs and 2 cats. Come and enjoy a beautiful and serene setting.
