Play on beaches, boat on a lake, and view moose on an RV camping trip to Peace River.
Peace River, also known as Rivière-la-Paix, sits along the river shores in northwestern Alberta. Here, RVers can hike Shaftesbury Trail or visit Sagitawa Lookout, then hit the road to venture out to Greene Valley Provincial Park, just 26 kilometres south. This provincial park is a protected wildlife sanctuary that offers frontcountry hiking through verdant hills where wildlife like moose, white-tailed deer, and black bears live. About 24 kilometres to the west, Queen Elizabeth Provincial Park sits along the shores of Cardinal Lake, home to beachside fun and access to the Ganaraska Hiking Trail. The park has 56 campsites—many of which offer 15-amp or 20-amp electrical RV hookups, as well as potable water, vault toilets, and a dump station. For boating, fishing, and birding, campers can tow their trailers south to Winagami Lake Provincial Park. The Winagami Lake Campground has over 60 forested campsites for tents and RVs, all outfitted with showers, flush toilets, and a sewage disposal station. Most sites also have electrical hookups.
