Camp and fish just a stonesthrow from one of Tasmania's most stunning natural landscapes, Cradle Mountain. Here you'll find nature at its best, just 10 minutes drive from the Cradle Mountain Visitors centre, the perfect base for discovering this magical area.
Our campsites are on scenic, levelled areas overlooking the large dam and bushland, with grassed areas ideal for tents and camper-vans, and a portaloo a short walk away. The block is a natural timber and grassland block, with devils, quolls and wombats also residing here. We have one powered site available, and multiple unpowered sites.
There is a lovely walking track around the dams periphery. Feed fish from the edge, spot platypus frolicking about, and keep your eye out for Peacocks wandering the property too. Whilst you are welcome to bring your dog with you, please ensure they don't harass the wildlife.
A keen fisher? Throw a line in at our other dam and catch your dinner! Nothing beats fresh fish, that you caught yourself, cooked on a campfire.

Little Gem Campground

Little Gem Campground in Gormanston Tasmania is a small but beautiful 1/4 acre of bush. There is the gorgeous bubbling Linda Creek head waters on your left as you enter the property. It feels so much bigger with no fences and bush on two sides.
Pets are welcome, but please remember there are no fences and all pet waste needs to be taken away.
The property is only suitable for self contained campers as there are no facilities. There is a public dump point opposite the intersection of Bent St and Lyell HWY Queenstown.
There are many attractions near by, such as:
- 10min drive to Queenstown
- Iron Blow Lookout 2km away
- Only 7min to the stunning Lake Burbury
- 12min to Thureau Hills concrete boat ramp on Lake Burbury
- 4.8km to the famous Mt Owen MTB Trails
As the property is mostly bush, there is nowhere for large vehicles to turn around, so it is best in that case to back in.

Located at Sheffield, the town of murals, is our home, Almost Heaven Clydesdales. We are based on a 50-acre working Beef cattle stud. You'll find lots of quiet pets to pat, farm experiences, and an assortment of activities. A wonderful green space to recharge, reflect and recoup with big open spaces to camp on level ground, with brilliant stars at night and beautiful vistas during the day.
We have on offer produce to pick from the market garden (seasonal), admire our lovely stud cattle as they roam about their day, help feed the chooks and collect fresh eggs, or watch our beautiful Clydesdales being worked or relaxing in the paddocks after hours.
We offer grassy, level paddocks for campers, where you are welcome to choose your own spot to set up, ensuring your privacy. All campers must be self-sufficient, with their own toilet and we kindly ask you to take all waste with you. There is a dump station in town.

Stooge Farm is located on the banks of the beautiful Tuluminakali (Mersey) River, 50 mins from Launceston airport, and 40 minutes from the Devonport Ferry Terminal. Stooge Farm is a secluded hideaway from the rest of the world, located at the at the end of a country lane, in a protected valley surrounded by state forest. The property is partly cleared and partly forested and is situated on, and surrounded by, a bend in the Mersey River in the shadow of Tulumpanga (the Gog Range). Stooge Farm is home to abundant wildlife including wallabies, echidna, wombats and a healthy population of platypus which can often be sighted at dusk along the river.

Only 20 minutes from the lovely regional town of Deloraine where you can stock up on supplies, enjoy a good coffee and the many amenities and historic streetscapes. Cradle Mountain, the Great lake, the upper Mersey Valley, the Western Tiers and extensive World Heritage wilderness areas are all within an hour or so of Stooge Farm.
Stooge Farm is located in its own peaceful valley along the Mersey River and has some of the best fishing, swimming and kayaking opportunities you could find anywhere. There are numerous campsites along the riverbanks, as well as beautiful walks along the river.
Stooge Farm is a safe and secluded place away from the hustle and bustle of the mad modern world. As well as camping, it is also available to rent for a variety of purposes; as the ultimate fishing retreat, for wedding, birthday and other significant life events, as a yoga, meditation and lifestyle retreat, or simply the ultimate holiday destination. This is such a special place that you really need to come and experience it for yourself to believe it. We await your visit.
*Some important notes before you book:
- Campers must have their own toilet and must remove all waste and rubbish. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed at all time.
- River water is available but drink at own risk.
- We recommend a strong vehicle, and a 4WD when towing caravans as the road in is steep.
- This is a quiet peaceful place, and to respect the wildlife and other campers we have a strictly no generators, amplified music or unnecessary noise. We will have to ask you to remove your dog if it barks.
- Please exercise extreme caution with fires as we are in a high risk area. Keep your fire small and in the fireplaces provided; put your fire out if there is no one attendance. No fires during windy conditions or days or fire ban. It is your responsibility to monitor and assess local conditions and fire regulations.

Private tent site on deck situated above the town of Zeehan. Enjoy the peace and quiet and don't pay top rates.
We have a newly built deck ideal for setting up a tent off the ground, looking over the mountains and township of Zeehan.
The deck is 5.3 x 5.3, with several metres of cleared land around the deck, so there is plenty of space to set up, be it on the deck or the level ground. There is also a small shelter and park bench for your use.
It is easily accessed from the road, and a perfect spot to sit back and relax among the trees and sleep under the stars.
There are no facilities here, so you need to be self-contained. There is however water and toilets available in town, a short trip down the road, along with IGA grocery store, pubs, Historical Centre and options for boating, fishing, hiking and even white water rafting.
Campfires are permitted in the designated area, and firewood is included. And pets welcome!

We offer rain water hot showers, a washing machine and a toilet all situated inside of our 'earthship' glasshouse. There is access to town water and safe drinking rainwater which we think tastes delicious.
