Our campsite is situated on a 1/2 acre wooded lot just 350 steps away from the Cove Road boat launch on beautiful Amston Lake. The lake is a pristine 188-acre retreat located in Lebanon and Hebron, CT. Swimming, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, and sunbathing are all activities you can enjoy. Bring your own gear. There are no motor boats allowed so you can enjoy all of those activities in a peaceful environment. Two beaches are located 1/2 or 1 mile away from the campsite with ample parking at both should you choose to drive. Our site is a wooded building lot in a residential lake community. This is not a wilderness camping experience, but a chance to access a beautiful lake and all the activities in the surrounding area. Lebanon is a beautiful, rural community with several operating farms. Amston Lake is on the edge of the Airline Trail where you can enjoy hiking and biking for miles. The Connecticut casinos are about 30 minutes away. Outlet shopping is located at Foxwoods Casino or in Clinton and Westbrook. The CT and RI shore are 40-60 minutes away. New York and Boston are about 90 minutes away. We are close to so much, and yet you will feel like you are far away from it all. We hope you enjoy your stay!

Amazon Lake Gateway was adorable! Perfect spot for people with small children or newer campers. Todd was an excellent host who gave us access to canoes on the lake, firewood, and a cozy fire pit to curl up by!
Wow! My family (husband, 5-year old daughter, and 3-year old daughter) just returned from our two-night stay at the Amston Lake Getaway, and we are blown away! By far, this is one of the most incredible camping experiences that our family has had this season, and we are already planning our return next year! We could not recommend this Hipcamp highly enough!
We were able to back directly into Todd's campsite, which was the perfect size for our 8-person tent and all the extras we had with us. There are four extremely comfortable Adirondack chairs situated around the most perfect firepit, several conveniently placed tables, an extension cord to plug electronics into, and the coziest hammock tucked into the far end of the site. Todd shared the code with us for the shed on the property, which houses the pass to the beach alongside many really helpful supplies like candles, tiki torches, etc.
As was mentioned in several reviews for the site, the bathrooms are located quite far from the campsite, so we were prepared to not depend on them. This campsite is in the friendliest lakeside neighborhood with houses pretty close by, which several reviewers also mentioned in their reviews, but it did not disturb us or make us feel like we lacked privacy. It felt like the distance you would be from other campers in a state park situation, so it didn’t throw us off at all.
My daughters cried the whole time we packed up at the end of our camping weekend. We were so comfortable, the location is amazing, and the site is so peaceful! If you are thinking about booking, I highly highly highly recommend it!
Great stay despite the weather
Unfortunately we did not get to use the lake because it was pouring rain during our stay. But the campsite was great. Todd let us drop off firewood ahead of our check-in time to keep in the shed so that when we arrived we could build a fire with dry wood (we were traveling on bicycles so had to do this in advance). Having the sled (and the extra chairs) was a benefit. The sit is flat and open enough for at least two tents. We knew it was in close proximity to neighbors and we had no problem with that. This site is located only 2 miles off the Airline Trail so it was a convenient location for our bikepacking loop. Would love to stay again to use the lake!
