South of Larkspur, located off Highway 105 lies a secretly beautiful and blushingly rustic canyon brimming with history, culture, and serenity. At Stone Canyon’s secluded 99-acres of rolling mountainous terrain, you will find the ideal location for your getaway. Rich with the quaint trickling sounds of East Plum Creek, the whistling and rustling of nature’s gentle wildlife, or the crackle of a slow-burning fire, we have 4 camping areas perfect for your family/friends or solo camping needs. Pets are welcome!

For our History buffs, in 2015 our site was granted a historic designation from the Douglas County Historic Preservation Board. This designation was in recognition of the work of Robert LeFevre. From 1955-1968, Mr. LeFevre built the Freedom School, a full-time graduate school focusing on the teaching of the Libertarian philosophy movement. These historic buildings are currently closed off to the public but are in the viewing range for pictures.

Each campsite is equipped with a designated picnic table and for an additional cost an optional pre-placed tent, propane fire pit, and more (check-out our extra's). Portable restrooms are available within short walking distances. Our site is ideal for those who truly want to unplug. There is NO cell phone service available on the property. Guests will have access to a landline phone in case of emergencies.

For your recreational desires, our 99-acres incorporates friendly hiking trails and tranquil areas for leisure activities like yoga, meditation, etc. For additional outdoor fun, hiking is available 4-miles east of us at Spruce Mountain Open Space. If water activities are more your calling, fishing, and kayaking type activities and are 5-miles south in Palmer Lake Reservoir, and an additional five more miles south gets you to Monument Lake.

We are approximately 40 miles north of Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, Seven Falls, and Manitou Springs. We are approximately 40 miles south of Denver and all of its attractions.

****Check-in 2pm, and check-out 12pm, noon. A property map and temporary gate access card will be provided at check-in.

Stone Camp was just what we were looking for! Visiting the Renaissance Faire, from Denver and needed a close by spot for a few nights. Very friendly, possibly the cleanest portipotty I have ever seen, and falling asleep to the near by creek was perfect! Justin was great at checking us in. We rented a propane fire pit and it was there waiting for us! Even put out decent heat! Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Beautiful site and friendly and helpful staff. The sites available were a little challenging to get camping gear to. The staff was accommodating when the picnic table and fire pit weren't at the camping site. The peace and quiet was a relief from the city. The gated community was nice too. We would go back to Stone Canyon

Thank you for the wonderful review! The next time you stay I highly recommend site 1 for you. It is much closure to parking and is much more intimate and cozy! Can't wait to host you again!

We had camp spot 1 and 2 reserved and both were wonderful. We had 16 in our party and had plenty of space to spread out. Spot 2 has less shade and is a rocky-pebbly surface but it’s by the creek and really big and it was perfect for our set-up. Space 1 is more grassy and secluded but not near the water. The owners were great to work with and had the fire pits and picnic tables all setup for us ahead of time. The grounds are big and normally used as a camp for Douglas county school kids. Our kids had a great time exploring the camp. We felt safe and secluded. A great trip!

Site 2Site 2. Plenty of space to spread out in site 2. Site 2. We brought the canopy and put I over the supplied picnic table.

Great place to get away that isn't too far from Denver. The land is large enough you don't really hear or see anyone. Our kids had a blast running the property.

Beautiful spot. We are creatures of comfort so it was nice to be able to park near site and bring loads of gear. We are too old for back pack camping! The propane fire pit was a wonderful option during the fire ban and we enjoyed sitting around the fire at night and in the cool of the mornings. Porta potty was clean and well maintained. We were on site 3 and we could hear some road noise, so that was the only downside.
