The Hidden Glen is a private RV site nestled in the trees, and backs up to a seasonal creek. This back-in site is 50’ long and can accommodate slide-outs on both sides and is easily leveled with some blocking. Trees, rocks, wild flowers, hiking, and wildlife viewing can all be enjoyed right from your campsite. Situated inside a gated 40-acre mountain pasture, it is part of an historic ranch homestead that is surrounded on all sides by Pike National Forest. A short walk away is a port-a-potty. Free-ranging children and off-leash pets are welcome, do please pick up after them. Potable drinking water is available from an onsite 55--gallon water tank.

For a casual hike, follow the old road/trail past the glamping sites and a secluded natural spring, to the School Yard gate or walk up the ridge to rockpile hideaways. Just up the trail from Hidden Glen, the School Yard Gate gives access to Pike National Forest and a pleasant trail that leads up through a mountain meadow to the renowned Little Scraggy Trail.

Traveling either direction of the 9.5-mile Little Scraggy Trail will take you to segment #3 of the Colorado Trail (for a 12.2-mile loop back to camp) and connects with the extensive trails of the Buffalo Creek Recreation Area, southwest of Denver. The USFS’s Little Scraggy Trailhead is only a few miles away.

You might prefer rock climbing Little Scraggy or fishing the gold-medal waters of the South Platte River canyon below Cheesman Dam and the waters near Deckers. Many people enjoy kayaking on the North Fork of the South Platte downstream from nearby Buffalo Creek.  If you would rather not cook, there is Zoka’s restaurant 10 miles north in Pine, the Bucksnort Saloon one mile north of Pine, or Deckers Corner 9 miles south, all serve excellent food, beer and cocktails.

There is extremely limited cell service…for those with the right carrier, that stand in the right spot, with the correct arm in the air and a tin foil hat…do not expect to have ANY reception.

We had a great stay at #2 Hidden Glen. It worked well as a back-in spot for our campervan and is close to the remarkably-clean porta pottie. It’s a mostly shaded spot, though we did get some nice sun in the afternoons. Hidden Glen is situated off a main road that other campers will follow to their sites. We had the place to ourselves all weekend, but during busier times this may or may not be an issue. There was also easy access to Little Scraggy trail. Overall, we definitely recommend. Thanks for the great stay!

You can see the front of our white van in the left of the pic. This shows the main road going up to other sites, as well as the small open area out front. Back-in spot. Pretty level. The site has this open area in the back. Perfect for privacy and quiet. You can see the front of our white van in the left of the pic. Easy to find private campsite surrounded by wilderness! I fit a huge tent and my hatchback in the spot easily, with room for a sun tent and fire area. Fire ring was so easy to use, and there was plenty of dry firewood in the surrounding woods to feed the fire.

Portapotty was spotless, water on site was easy to get to. Pine Junction Country Store is a short 30 mins up the road for firewood/gas/benadryl.

Scraggy #2 Hidden Glen is a nice shaddy spot with tall trees around it. The site feels private among the other camp sites. A bit hard to back into but my 18 foot trailer was not so bad to navagate in. Terri was a great host. Freindly and helpfull. Great camping if you want to get away.

Really happy with our stay here. Clean restroom. Potable water. And a beautiful setting. Not too far from Denver, but far enough. there is a general store in deckers just down the road should you need anything. Highly Recommended, and we’ll be back!

Hidden glen was a nice spot in a small campground. Plenty of trees and area for the kids to explore. Beautiful flowers and hummingbirds for mom. The spot was a bit tricky backing into, but thankfully we have great backup tools in our truck and trailer. Plenty of firewood to use for roasting our marshmallows. We will come again as this was only 1.5 hours from home.
