Glen Isle is located in Bailey, Colorado which is the perfect vacation spot for friends, family, reunions, or a private get away.
Glen Isle was originally built for an escape from hectic Denver. Once you cross the bridge into the resort, you’ll understand why it has served as a peaceful getaway for over a century. The Platte River welcomes you and divides the property from Highway 285. If you love to fish, you have a mile of the river to use at your disposal. If hiking is your forte and you desire to explore nature, Glen Isle is surrounded by the National Forest, Lost Creek Wilderness, Payne Gulch Trailhead, the Colorado Trail and many private acres for you to explore.
You will find history narrates the Native American’s story where Glen Isle was once used as an Indian encampment, and numerous trees still stand today that were culturally modified to mark sacred treasures. If you seek tranquility, you will find hummingbirds and chipmunks always seeking an audience to entertain.
(Glorious Glen Isle was unoccupied for six years. We are in the process of renovating hundred year old cabins, and the 8,000 square foot lodge. Our camping areas have a river setting, glorious valley views, and a private setting surrounded by the National Forest. However, there is renovation and construction going on around the property. If you need more information, please do not hesitate to ask. Our goal is to share the property with others, and to have happy campers!)

Quaint and cozy
Staying at the Glen Isle Greyledge cabin exceeded my expectations greatly. Upon arrival, MaryBeth was waiting for us at the entrance to the resort, she was so friendly and told us exactly how to get to our cabin! She also told us about the beautiful history of Glen Isle and I am proud to support the restoration of the land. The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed, they even had heated fleece blankets! They allowed our pup to stay at the cabin and he loved hearing all of the nature and traveling on the hiking paths right behind the property. We will definitely be staying again!!
This place is amazing! There was a lot to do including some close hikes, going into the town of Bailey and a community campfire. The cabins were great and included everything you could need. We will be back!
Glen Isle is the hidden gem of Colorado retreats. I have never experienced such an authentic, open hearted, hospital stay. Mary Ruth was so communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. We got an incredible tour of the lodge and were awestruck by how many treasures there are to see — from Ute pottery and jewelry to doll houses and antique chairs galore — it feels like you are stepping back in time to the 1900s. Not only is Glen Isle the perfect place to disconnect from the business of our day to day lives, it is a perfect places to connect with this beautiful, dedicated community of people working to restore this special place. There is a lot of heart here. Definitely will come back in the summer months!!
Best place to be rejuvenated!
Literally such a beautiful place! The cabin was cozy and perfectly heated by the fire. We were able to connect to the Bluetooth speaker, listen to tunes and play games. We walked down to say hello to the horses and explored the property. The full kitchen allowed us to cook dinner, breakfast and make coffee! So thankful to rest in such a magical place!
We actually stayed in the Riverside cabin & had a great time! The interior is well furnished & cozy. We liked having the river/stream so close & we took full advantage of the games in the rec room. This was our first experience using Hipcamp as well & we are very happy with Glen Isle Resort. Our hosts were timely in their responses with our questions leading up to our stay. We will try to come back in the future.
This place is great!
This place is great! Actually stayed in Riverside and was a big roomy cabin with great beds. Highly recommend any cabin available at Glen Isle. The history is also cool to check out!
