Quaint bell tent on diverse 2.5 acre land. Enjoy a genuine Colorado experience away from the cities (Approximately 2.5 hours southwest of Denver)! Our off-grid spot is in the middle of a peaceful valley surrounded by gorgeous views of the mountains and surrounding farmlands. The stars are exceptional too, no light pollution! Perfect for self sufficient campers, if you are looking for something to replace a hotel with wifi and electricity, this isn't the place for you. We like to think of our place as rustic camping but with some extra amenities.

The site is in the rear of our property outlined with trees for privacy. Rock outcroppings, hammock, tree swing, seating around your own private fire pit a few yards away from your site. Approved alternative propane fire "pit" provided when under a fire ban. Please bring your own propane. Leashed pets welcome.

Accommodations include a full size memory foam mattress inside an all-seasons rated canvas tent with a wood-burning stove to keep warm and cook meals (wood stove in tent is seasonal only...inoperable during July/August), firewood provided. Bed only includes the mattress and protector, please bring your own sheets, pillows, and blankets. The bathhouse includes an enclosed flushable toilet area with a skylight and solar shower.

Attractions:

We are only three miles to Guffey Gorge/Paradise Cove! A must-see short hike into a canyon with a waterfall and swimming hole where locals and visitors cliff jump!

Cripple Creek (20 min): around the corner and offers gambling and plenty of places to dine. Maybe you'll get lucky and be able to take a selfie with the free-range donkeys that roam the streets.

Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument (10 min): Miles of hiking to wear you out, including Hornbeck Homestead to explore that belonged to one of the first residents (a single mother who built it herself) of Florissant.

11 Mile Canyon Recreation Area (30 min): an amazing place to spend the day swimming, hiking, rock climbing, tubing down the canyon river or fishing.

Public-BLM-Land (2min): less than a mile from the property is an entrance to acres of public lands. Bring your off-road vehicles! Four-wheeling, off-road-ready jeeps, dirtbikes etc are permitted. Hiking here is fun too, but you won't get past the gate without an AWD or 4WD vehicle.

Mueller State Park (25 min): 55 miles of hiking and biking trails. There is also great rock-climbing access at "the crags" nearby.

Manitou Springs (45 min): the closest place to buy your green, the city is also a great place to spend the day walking the shops and parks. They have an awesome outdoor arcade in the middle of the city featuring vintage pinball machines and other nostalgic games.

Canon City (40 min): Home of the Royal Gorge.

Woodland Park (35 min): The closest place for a wide variety of supplies. Includes a Wal-mart, Safeway, some dining, etc.

We highly recommend booking at least two nights to fully experience the area and what it has to offer!

We were very grateful for our stay on this property. The landscape is gorgeous! I definitely loved traipsing from parking up to the tent site and on up to the outdoor kitchen/ fire site... (There's a waffle iron! Had I known, would've prepped for fresh waffles enjoyed in morning with coffee from that French press.)
Thankfully, the tent is very much less drafty than my own, and we slept decently on the mattress. The outhouse was convenient, and the shower space was a generous consideration. Overall, the complete space is one in which I could've stayed longer. The hosts were most thoughtful with a sweet handwritten welcome note and offered a guest book for shared greetings. We didn't make it to the nearby gorge but did go further on to the fossil park with petrified wood and plentiful trails.
Thank you, hosts, for a great and memorable stay.

What a lovely spot! The site was well appointed, I loved the little kitchen set up. We brought water but there was plenty extra for our one night stay. The tent was cozy and the mattress was great! Our VW Golf was able to make it up the driveway no problem and it had recently rained. The nighttime was so quiet and peaceful and the sunrise was such a treat to watch. Thanks for a great stay!

This set up is great. They offer so much to make camping easy without taking away the real feel of camping. Perfect site for the two of us. We didn't get to stay at camp much to enjoy it enough. We will definitely come back if we are adventuring in the area again.

Awesome camping spot! The tent and the amenities they provided was super convenient. Also had a blast at guffey gorge which fun with the family. I’ve never showered at a camp site before, but it was one of the most refreshing things ever. As a note to the host, providing cooking utensils and pans was nice, but if they’re not stored properly, they become a little gross to use. Totally not necessary to provide, but a nice thought. Also, if you’re in the mood of going above and beyond (which you clearly did) maybe having a cornhole set could be a fun idea. Just a thought. Overall, it was more than we could ask for. Highly recommended to anyone!
