OUR NEWEST GLAMPING SPACE! This is our most "glamorous" tent on our private property. Minutes from Colorado Springs, your safari tent is a master bedroom with queen bed, fireplace, hammock, picnic table, wood fire pit and grill. You'll be "roughing it" a little with outdoor outhouse, perhaps some rough weather, and you will likely hear coyotes at night. The creek flows year round, deer and hawks and waterfowl are seen daily. Welcome to Monument Creek and to the "glamping" community!

The space

⛺ YOUR GLAMPSITE. We consider this our "premium" glamping space (for a more off-grid glamping experience, see Tents #1-3 in other listings). Your glampsite has a yard and includes a picnic table, hammock, and wood fire pit. It is more secluded with a privacy wall and a separate driveway. Additional amenities include on-grid power and a propane heater hooked to running water for extended hot-shower capacity. Aesthetic additions like an electric fireplace and wood-stained floors give extra ambiance for your upgraded stay.

⛺ YOUR TENT. All of our tents are Davis Tent & Awning™ canvas hunting tents, 14'x16' size, set upon a sturdy platform (not on dirt). Lamps and stringed lights keep everything lit, though we recommend headlamps for getting around at night (battery-operated lanterns are provided). Complimentary coffee, tea and a few munchies will be provided. A power strip is ready for charging gadgets.

⛺ THE SHARED OUTDOORS. The tent, yard, and privy are all privately yours. Outside your space is the rest of the acreage: waterfowl, mule deer, hawks and eagles, flowers, and a beautiful flowing creek that you can wade through. Walking the property is allowed, though the space is shared with our family and other glampers.

⛺ DISTANCES. Your tent (Tent #4) is on the opposite side of the property from the others with a privacy fence and is accessible from a separate driveway. Tent 1-3 are off-grid glamping sites without the amenities listed above.

Guest access

Your site has its own driveway that leads to the backyard. You will park in front of the shed. Your tent is a sort 10-yard walk to the gate. Instructions will be sent with more detail ahead of your arrival.

Other things to note

⛺ LOCATION. The Monument/Colorado Springs area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Conveniently located along the Rampart Range of Colorado, your tent is nestled in a rural-residential homestead with a beautiful creek flowing through it (and you're welcome to explore!). A mile to the East is civilization (stores, shops, etc.), and a mile to the West is dense mountain forests (Pike National Forest). Public lakes are within a couple miles, and tons of tourist attractions a short drive away (Garden of the Gods, Air Force Academy, etc.).

⛺ AMENITIES. We provide towels, toilet paper, paper towels, and trash can liners. If you forget anything, Walmart is a two-mile drive, or just text us. We may have "forgetables" on hand to save you the trip. Be aware of AMENITY LIMITATIONS. Glamping is "glamorous," but it is still outdoors and subject to weather conditions. To prepare for your stay, pay attention to the added notes below.

⛺ WATER. Tents 1-3 have a two-gallon water cooler and will be full when you arrive. A shared water spigot is available a short distance from your site. The water is drawn from our property's well and is filtered (it is not city water). Fill your water cooler and camp showers as much as you want, including camp shower bags that heat in the sun. Tent 4 has running water, a small sink, and a shower with hot water.

⛺ FIRE PIT. Tents 1-3 come with a propane fire pit on the deck with free propane to make your evenings and morning warm and comfortable. Tent 4 comes with a wood fire pit with one arm load of firewood ready for use (our kids chop and sell the extra firewood for $10/bundle). A propane fire pit is available in case fire restrictions are active in the area during your stay.

⛺ THE PRIVY. All sites come with a Davis Tent Royal Throne Outhouse™ set up with a Cabela's Camp Commode™, much like a composting toilet but cleaner with immediate disposal. Toilet paper and freshener are stocked. Tent 4 comes with a propane tank with an on-demand water heater for longer showers.

⛺ GRILL. A two-burner grill with everything you'd expect with a grill (tongs, spatulas, etc.) and we include a cast-iron pan to cook with. A few paper plates and utensils are provided, but we recommend you bring your own picnic supplies to meet your individual needs.

⛺ PETS. Pets are welcome! We trust pet owners to bring anything their pets need to make their visit pleasant (i.e. leash, food, mess bags, etc.). Pets are not allowed on the bed. We have pets, too, so they'll need to get along if they meet.

⛺ NO PARTIES. Moderate drinking is allowed, but "parties" are strictly prohibited. Keep all tobacco smoking outside the tent. We are not 420 friendly (no marijuana). Any extra guests must be granted written permission through the rental app and ahead of arrival. Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. Violators will be reported and may be asked to leave.

⛺ SELF CHECK IN. Check in anytime between 2:00pm and 6:00pm. Your glamping site will be cleaned and ready for you. You may drive straight to your site and enter your tent. Text us when you arrive and we'll come and introduce ourselves and answer any questions you may have.

⛺ DURING YOUR STAY. We are living family life up the hill in the main house, but someone may be available to come help you with anything onsite. We are friendly people who love to meet our guests, but we also will respect your space and your privacy. We will never enter your tent during your stay. Always feel free to message us with questions or concerns.

Chris was a kind and thorough host. The site was as described and was a perfect place to stay for someone looking for a night outdoors without the trouble of hauling and setting up your own equipment. Highly recommend!

BOOK IT. We had a wonderful time glamping at Chris and Wendy’s, it was so much more than we expected. The Premium tent was beautiful and sparkling clean with thoughtful touches like quilts, snacks, a telescope, and fire starters. The bed was plush, more comfortable than my own, and made to perfection - better than what I’ve seen at five-star resorts! I was in Heaven and that was before we sat back and enjoyed the grass, the mountains and the creek on the property. The biggest surprise for me was the heavy-duty water pressure of the propane-heated shower - wasn’t expecting that but was very pleasantly surprised! This would be an amazing getaway for couples, or for families with kids. We had our kiddos and dog with us and this was their favorite spot during our extended summer trip (the hosts have cots and sleeping bags for the littles and we brought a travel crate for the dog- plenty of room for all that and more in the tent). They loved every minute we spent there, especially the trampoline and zip line that the hosts generously allowed us to use. As for privacy, the Premium spot is 100 percent private. The other tents had guests on the nights we were there but we neither saw nor heard them - perfect. As for the hosts, they were very communicative before our trip, swiftly answering questions and providing suggestions. Wendy greeted us on arrival. She was very welcoming and took the time to give us a quick walk-through and answered our questions. They were also reachable by text. We had a perfect getaway here and can’t wait to return! Stop wasting time and book it - what a treat it was for our family. Thanks Chris and Wendy!
