Camp Kush is located in the Great Sage Plain at the edge of the Colorado Plateau in the shadow of Mesa Verde National Park with panoramic mountain/mesa views of the Four Corners region, all only 5 miles southeast of Cortez.

We have private couple’s or family cabins, shared hostel-style cabins with bunk beds, tent and vehicle sites, a community kitchen, a covered event space, vault toilets and hot showers.

Camp Kush is in an arid desert climate. Water is scarce, stored in cisterns for use in camp. Because of this we ask that you bring your own bedding and linens, your own drinking water & limit water use in camp.

We are a cannabis friendly destination & are inclusive! Cool folks of any ethnic background, national origin or religion as well as hippies, freaks and queers are all welcome here!

We're happy to give you the local's only hook-up to find hikes, ruins, swimming holes, lakes/rivers, hot springs, tacos, coffee, cannabis, a spot to rent kayaks, bikes- you name it! Just ask.

There are so many things to do/see nearby: Mesa Verde National Park, Canyons of the Ancients, Hovenweep National Monument and Phil's World. Raft down the Dolores river, maybe rent an SUP or kayak and chill on a quiet reservoir. There are several museums and cultural centers in the area as well.

Durango and Telluride are each about hour away, and Moab is about 2.5 hours away-including Arches and Canyonlands National parks.

The best/nearest airport is in Durango, and the nearest large international airport is in Albuquerque.

This place was perfect for my pass through trips. I rented the sunset and senrise spots for car camping. Facilities are clean and well maintained. Anything I could need outside of my own prep, is provided. Seems to be a common respect amongst campers and my visit was peaceful. Thanks to Greg and the others for their part and all they bring to the experience. Good people.

Sweet.

Great place! Close to Mesa Verde. Lots of interesting travelers and people who are more long term residents. Ping pong table, places to charge things despite the fact that we were camping. Fresh eggs so we could make breakfast burritos before we headed out for adventures. Showers were clean, even the pit toilet house was cute (never thought that possible!). Jen was very quick to respond to any query. Relaxing place that felt homey due to the communal area.

This place was so cool! Lovely setting with gorgeous mountain views, great people, and everything we needed for an impromptu one-night stay. We got the last site available a few hours before check-in, and Jen and her crew were so helpful and responsive. There was a crazy monsoon at sunset and they even pulled our van out of the mud after we foolishly drove into the flooded site. The kitchen is really amazing and made it easy for us to cook dinner and breakfast. We loved not having to pull out all of our stuff to cook, and we had great conversations with other campers. Check this place out!
