We have priv
We have private couple’s or family cabins, shared hostel-style cabins with bunk beds, tent and vehicle sites, a community kitchen, a covered event space, vault toilets and hot showers.
We are a cannabis friendly destination & are inclusive! Cool folks of any ethnic background, national origin or religion as well as hippies, freaks and queers are all welcome here!
We're happy to give you the local's only hook-up to find hikes, ruins, swimming holes, lakes/rivers, hot springs, tacos, coffee, cannabis, a spot to rent kayaks, bikes- you name it! Just ask.
There are so many things to do/see nearby: Mesa Verde National Park, Canyons of the Ancients, Hovenweep National Monument and Phil's World. Or raft down the Dolores river, maybe rent an SUP or kayak and chill on a quiet reservoir. There are several museums and cultural centers in the area as well that truly help set the context for your visit to the area.
We are located just outside of Cortez on a county maintained, surfaced gravel road. You really need a vehicle to get the full Colorado experience as public transportation is scarce...and the land, vast!
Durango and Telluride are each about hour away, and Moab is about 2 hours away-including Arches and Canyonlands National parks.
The best/nearest airport is in Durango, and the nearest large international airport is in Albuquerque.

Camp Kush was awesome. Stayed for three days. The camp was very quiet and a great place to crash after days of long hiking and excursions. Hot showers, a well stocked kitchen, and ice for our cooler. Can't beat it.
Cabin camping in family environment
Kush Camp was in a nice location right outside of Cortez. It was a nice place to stay in a cabin after 2 nights of tent camping in the rain. It is super close to Mesa Verde and close to Durango. Overall a nice place with friendly hosts, a resident artist and other like-minded campers.
Camp kush or bust!
Wow, this property was so lovely and welcoming! We were greeted by an absolutely sweet and informative host, and what stay isn't complete without a big ol' fluffy dog running around to make you feel at home! The Juniper cabin was so comfortable, the Camp had everything you need to make yourself at home (bring water tho! they do have some for comfort, but just bring your own! showers are hot and pressurized tho!) Full kitchen, snacks and coffee for donation, a cool observatory deck in which I gazed at the incredible stars from, and again, just super sweet and communicative hosts. You should stay here!
This was our first time booking via HipCamp and I’m so thrilled we chose Camp Kush! The owners are kind, very informative, and welcoming. We travel on average 4-5 times per month and never have I had such a warm welcome. We arrived pretty late but Jen worked with us on time and we were still shown around camp after dark. Seriously, the fact we were met at the gate and shown around made this experience a million times better and we felt welcome and safe here. Accommodations are pretty basic, but the spirit and vibe of this place put it at the top of our list.
Clean, immaculate & stunning views
The first thing that really stood out to me as a guest was how clean all the spaces were. The cabin, restrooms, shower room, communal kitchen, and gathering spaces were all immaculately clean. The playground and star viewing deck were great amenities as well! The vibe of the whole place was fantastic and all the campers were friendly & my eight-year-old daughter enjoyed the novelty of the rustic cabin. Being able to plan ahead and add the ice/snacks to our trip was a great help as well! I totally had kitchen envy, it was that good and I'll say again CLEAN. *They also throw in farm-fresh chicken eggs, I personally am allergic to eggs but how stinking sweet right?!?
Let's not forget this gem is surrounded by gorgeous mountains!
Book it! you won’t regret it
Jen was wonderful and the camp was so cool! Cabin was rustic but charming and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The little touches showed how much Jen really cares about her guests. We would definitely stay again!
Our stay was absolutely magnificent! The cabin was comfortable and spacious, although chilly at night so be sure to bring long sleeves for the cold evenings! Everything was charming and fun, from the ping pong tables, hammocks, and couches to relax and hang out with other campers in the communal/kitchen area, (and kittens!), then quiet, relaxing, & spacious cabins, as well as RV hookups and campsites, too! The views at night are breathraking, with stars as far as the eye can see, and scenic views where it looks like the stars are resting right upon the mountain tops! Absolutely beautiful! Jen was a phenomenal host, very friendly and helpful! I would definitely stay here again, and will tell my friends as well! Thanks y'all, for making my birthday this year peaceful, relaxing, and wonderful! It was just what we needed!
A hidden gem like mesa verde
Camp Kush is the laid back stayover you never knew you needed in Southwest Colorado! Situated on a private Ranch with a summer camp style layout, it is the perfect place to rest, meet other traveller's, and get away from it all.
The hosts were extremely friendly and responsive, as were the camp staff. If you enjoy meeti g others, you will find a diverse range of guests who were also freidnly and fun to hangout with. I actually explored Mesa Verde with two feow campers I met the night before.
The shared kitchen was stocked to the brim, the free eggs diciois, and all facities were very clean! I will be staying again the next time I am down there!
