Stay in the yurt!  Very private.  This is bear country.  Do not leave any food in the yurt.  Food can be stored in the bear box(rusted metal locking container on NW corner of deck) or left in your locked car.  There are many miles of trails for hiking, biking, and running.  The property runs from the yurt almost due East to national forest and due South from the yurt to national forest.  There are many trails, text me from the yurt and I'll recommend or just get out and have a good time.  There is no water- campers should bring enough for their needs.  There is a groover- fun!  Queen Bed.  Quickest path to James Creek is to the SouthEast(Steep trail, always worth it).

My husband and I stayed here with our dog and had a blast! Cool space with a pretty hike down to the river. Steep hike so be prepared. Generally quiet but close to a road and home so we could hear cars and a chainsaw but no biggie. Just be aware of metal and parts laying around if you have kids or dogs. The stove kept us warm and Andrew provided plenty of wood and lights for at night. Would definitely do again!

The yurt was awesome - in such a remote area and so cozy on a cold fall day. It snowed on the way in but it was still warm in the yurt. We bought extra blankets (we run cold) and that was a good idea but they do give you 3 which is nice. Bed was great. The space itself is large and has a beautiful skylight on the top + windows throughout so you can see the outdoors.

The lights didn't work for us but we'd seen that in the reviews so we just brought headlamps and a lantern and that did the trick! They had plenty of games and books there as well which was a nice touch.

The only thing to note is the bathroom is really just like dispersed camping (there's an open-air chair-like bathroom outside) so good to be aware of that.

Would definitely come back here!

We loved the Yurt! By far exceeded our expectations. Andrew was so accommodating and helpful! He lit the fire for the wood stove before we got there so the yurt was warm and cozy. Comfy bed with rustic decorations. Gorgeous Mountain View's. We definitely wanna come back!!!

The Yurt was beautiful amd very relaxing. The only thing that would really make the area much more enjoyable is there is a lot of tools and equipment laying around the property. It almost has a junk yard feel to it. Other than that it was wonderful.

Great location! We had a ton of fun hiking and exploring up near Ward. The Yurt was a great place to spend the night and we had a fun time staying there.

Amazing campsite! Yurt was super clean. The host really has thought of everything and provided some nice touches. The hiking trails were great and fun to explore. We appreciated the convenience of the charcoal grill on the campsite. Totally would love to come back!

The yurt was quaint and comfortable! Had no trouble finding it and the location was nice, close to many trails and lots of national forest. Had a little bit of cell service at the property. Was a bit noisier than I was expecting - I could hear a decent amount of road noise inside the yurt and the neighbor's dogs went on a barking spree at 3 am both nights of my stay. Just a heads-up for other light sleepers!

I had asked about bringing my own lighting and Andrew mentioned there were some battery-powered lights, but they were in various states of disrepair. I did have a headlamp but wished I would have brought additional lights. I locked the door at night but having a key or keypad to be able to lock it when I left during the day (didn't want to leave my tablet in my car when I went hiking) would have been helpful - a curtain for the glass door would be nice for privacy as well!

Overall my dog and I had a nice stay but it was a bit pricy with everything considered - no power, water, or bathroom, so basically dry camping with an actual bed. Certainly wasn't expecting a luxury experience but price tag was steep for one person for what it was.

This is the "groover!" I've never heard this setup referred to as a groover so wasn't clear on what it was. Sounded like there was a composting toilet but it isn't currently operational. The YurtThe YurtView from the property
