CAMPSITE 6 SALVADOR is a large, flat site in the middle of the property that can easily fit up to 4 tents. If you are cool with being in the center of the Ferretti Farm action and close to all of our amenities, this is the perfect setup for you.

WHAT WE ARE:

We are a Hipcamp that caters to SELF-SUFFICIENT campers who have experience and realize that this is a step above what camping REALLY means. If you need a camp host available at all times, this is not the Hipcamp for you, as our host lives on-site and keeps things clean and functioning, but is not always there. We are a Hipcamp that offers our guests a clean, hot shower and two indoor toilets. Pretty rad, right?! We are people who are utilizing a very old, funky mobile home to make some money and pay off our land while living in the shabby chic cottage on site. We are a peaceful place in historic downtown Groveland to enjoy a glamping experience in one of our beautiful, canvas tents,  our fully equipped 18 foot RV,  in your own tent, in our cozy bedroom in the mobile, or in your RV under the same pines and oaks that fill Yosemite National Park. We are a new venture on a property that has been mistreated for years and we are loving it back to health on a very limited budget. We are a place that has a super cool, vintage, outdoor kitchen with hot water & cold water, a 1950 Wedgewood gas range with four burners, a bar with 4 stools and an umbrella, and a small propane bbq.

***BRING YOUR OWN COOK/SERVING/DRINKWARE***

We are a 3-5 minute walk from the public transit system into Yosemite. Check out YARTS dot com online for schedules. WE ARE AN AWESOME PLACE TO BE!!!

WHAT WE ARE NOT:

We are not a high-end, generously funded campground with brand new furniture, a pristine campfire ring, manicured sites, and marble showers. (Although, we are people who love to visit those places!) Please let me know you've read this far by telling me how many smokers are in your group when you send your booking request. We are not associated with Yosemite National Park and, therefore do not have up to the minute details about what they require or have going on. You can find this information on the National Parks website. We are not available at all times to answer questions about each site's specifics but have taken a great deal of time putting all of the information into the platform. We ask our campers to read up!

Main Street Groveland is just a quick walk down the back streets of the Gold Rush Town. Enjoy dinner and drinks at The Iron Door Saloon, the oldest continuously operating saloon on this side of the Mississippi. Or enjoy the high-end Bourbon Bar and small bites at the Groveland Hotel's Provisions.

Reservations are required to drive into Yosemite through September 30, 2021. Some services and facilities are limited, and shuttles are not operating.

The campsite is big enough for 5-6 tents, conveniently located next to the kitchen area and the bathrooms. Place is clean and well illuminated at night.
Roni was very useful answering a few questions about the logistics.
We will totally go back to enjoy more nature time and more Yosemite

Did not feel safe at all. The first strange occurrence that set the scene for the night ahead was the arrival of two females who dropped off two large trash bags at the green hut around 9PM. They then departed in their car.

Seemingly random people (who ultimately did not appear to stay here) arrived at around 11:30 PM (just as we had fallen asleep in preparation for waking up early for our vacation to Yosemite the next day).

We were abruptly woken as a car arrived right next to our camp site around 11:30 PM, and the occupants subsequently starting to drink and converse/laugh loudly in what was now the middle of night. This group of people -- we think it was a group of 4 -- were *walking through our designated site* and in between our vehicle and tent and my brothers head -- a narrow space of about 6 feet (despite all the other space that was available). All seemed to be drunk, and seemed to search for additional alcohol in the common area (and they found it as we found the discarded bottle and cork in the morning). I would assume this group was related to the host because the lights in the room designated as the "office" were on during this time.

These events made me feel so scared in the middle of night. The group stayed around about 1.5 hours (yes, I was not able to sleep at all) and two people left in the car at around 1AM, but they **drove THROUGH our designated site, navigating (while likely drunk) a narrow space between our vehicle and the berm on which the office building sat**.

This was such an awful, scary and unsafe camping experience -- and is not something I expect to pay ~$80 for. The facilities - it is what it is, as described, so it was OKAY as I did not have any expectations - but at the very least, the host has a duty of care to ensure that the paying visitors to the site are made to feel safe on the one hand, and obeying the rules (read: basic decency) on the other.

I would not recommend this listing.

This place is funky, and you can tell it is a work in progress! We appreciated having the outdoor kitchen, but note it does not have hot water. I wished some of the outdoor seating for the kitchen area was more stable and less worn. It was a bit far from Yosemite, but we knew this and planned accordingly. Just a short walk away, and the Groveland Hotel has music and food on its back patio on the weekend.

Like I previously mentioned, I understand this location is a work in progress, but I did wish I had better expectations before booking on two things:
1. how close the spots are to each other, and how 6 is right next to the kitchen and mobile home bathrooms
2. while the bathrooms are clean and plentiful with cleaning supplies, the writing all over the walls and bathrooms in the mobile home with a random mattress and furniture is super funky

Many guests enjoyed this character and paid no mind, and I just wasn't aware, based on the photos, that this is what it would look like and wanted to share for others.

The camping was perfect!! With large camping areas in a beautiful setting, coupled with the practical outdoors kitchen, the place is fantastic to spend many days. Having a shower is also very useful. The only drawback was that one of the toilets was out of service the last day of our stay, but I'm sure it will be fixed soon.
As for the nearby town, it's beautiful and has everything you need to buy food/gears for your adventures. It is also very close to one of Yosemite entrances (30' by car).
I would definitely recommend 6 Salvador and come back!! Thanks Roni!!!

We arrived late at night and we had direct access to the campground. The place was well lit so we could easily set up our tent and use the bathroom. The common area inside and outside the trailer is very cozy and charming. The bathroom is functional and there was hot water for everyone in the family. So definitely recommendable for a one or two night stay visiting Yosemite.
