Villa Macala overlooks the Hemet Valley with gorgeous panoramic views of the San Jacinto Mountains. Reminiscent of an Italian Villa. The property is 20 acres of Olive Orchards, a growing vineyard, fig trees, pomegranate trees and more set in the natural rock landscape. Take a break from city life and set up a tent in or around  our olive orchards. (NOTE: We have tent camp sites only and can accommodate camper vans and truck campers depending on size and which site selected, however we CANNOT accommodate pull behind trailers, pull behind campers or RVs of any kind).

Villa Macala is 15 minutes from Diamond Valley Lake where you can enjoy fishing or mountain bike trails, museum and water park. It is 20-30 minutes to Pachea Trail and Simpson Park where you can enjoy more great hiking and mountain bike trails.  It is also a 30 minute drive to Temecula Wine Country.

Enjoy walking the grounds of the 20 acres and taking in the views.

We have an outdoor bathroom (please note it is a good walk uphill from the campsites) that campers can use with a shower and small fridge to store your food.  We also have a playground with swing set for kids to enjoy. Please bring your own tents.

OTHER SUGGESTED ITEMS TO BRING:

  • Your own fire wood, cooking wood, starter material, lighters, utensils, etc. We offer firewood bundles for $7 you can choose to purchase at time of booking or bring cash.
  • Your own cooler to store food close to your site and grill that you need on hand since the small fridge is a good walk from those 2 places. We sell bags of ice for $4. Bring cash if you would like to purchase.
  • Your own camp chairs.
  • Easy up shade. During summer months 100 + degrees is normal during the day. Sunblock, cool clothes.
  • Please bring your own towels for shower use. The towels provided in there are for orchard workers during the week. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Bookings are made by request only and are approved based on availability of a camp host. Last minute bookings may be available but it is best to book at least 2 weeks to 1 month prior to desired dates. Thank you for your understanding.  Bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance to be considered.

SITE AVAILABILITY AND OPTIONS: We have 4 sites available.

SITE 1: Elderberry Park. This site is for a large group up to 12 people.  Chose site 1 for groups larger then 4 people and groups with children. We recently added a shade cover over the picnic table.

SITE 2: Olive Orchard. This site is located on the perimeter of our olive orchards overlooking the San Jacinto Mountains. This site can fit up to 2 tents and we recommend a maximum of 4 people. For safety reasons we have determined that this site is for adults only.

SITE 3: Private Corner. This site is in a private far corner of the property.  We recommend a maximum of 4 people and have determined that for safety reasons this site is for adults only.  If Site 3 is chosen it would require a Polaris Shuttle from the Camp Host down to the site, a car will not be able to go direct.

SITE 4: This site is under the Oak Trees and is a very small site suitable only for 1-2 people max.

*All sites can be shown to camp guests for decision and viewing upon arrival unless multiple groups are booked. All sites have either a covered firepit or a wood burning stove and all a picnic table.

*Our maximum capacity is 12 campers for all sites combined, if you request a booking for a larger group and we already have other sites booked for that same time, your booking may not be accepted due to capacity restrictions, thank you for understanding. After 2 groups have booked or 12 camper maximum we will block off other sites for best enjoyment of our campers. You can always message us and check first, before requesting the booking.

FIRES: SEE property owner/camp host upon arrival about what you may use on the property.  He will provide instructions.  If you have questions prior to check-in, please message us.  No fires are to be lit by the campers without verbal consent from property owner and instruction. Bring your own fire wood, charcoal, starter material, lighters, utensils, etc.

TASTINGS: Macala Orchards Olive Oil, Various Jellies and Jams & Pomegranate Juice all made from what we grow are available for tasting upon request. Please let us know prior to arrival if you are interested in a scheduled tasting during your stay! We can provide a tasting only if we have the proper staff during your visit to accommodate.  Thank you.

Beautiful, close to vineyards, and an incredible family and farm. Thank you for your warmth and hospitality- it was everything we’d hoped it to be, and more!

This is a great place to quickly go if you’re looking to get out of the city for a few days. The entire property is very well maintained and the staff are incredibly helpful.

The cast iron camping stove at our site was a great feature, the fire burned slower and the stove radiated more heat than the regular fire pit. Plus, you can cook dinner on top very much like a traditional stove top.

There is great lighting and landscapes to take photographs and the diamond valley lake is maybe 15 minutes away for fishing, hiking or biking.

Currently the bathroom/shower are a bit of a hike from the campsite but it appears they might have plans to build more closer to the hipcamp sites. Because the bathroom is shared with staff, we usually just drove the car up in the evening after most of them are gone to take a shower.

We’ll definitely be coming back.

This is a beautiful place to camp. Our group stayed in site #1 Elderberry and it was very very roomy enough for all the tents to be spread out pretty far from each other and away from the campfire. We stayed the second week of November 2021 and although it has a gazebo we where very glad we took our own canopy because it was still 90 and minimal shade in this particular camping spot. We would take a short drive every night to shower which was nice there is a microwave and fridge in the little shower building if anyone needed that. Very clean amenities. All the workers/owners where very nice and friendly no one bothered but if you drove by they would smile say hi and maybe even offer some pointers or suggestions. David particularly stood out we had so nice and took us on a tour of the property you can tell he really loves what he does. We ran out of firewood by our last night and it was easy to text them and we where quickly provided firewood. Recommend to stay here 100%. Thank you again.

What a unique place! Lots of things to see. Close to the city but worlds away experience.

Very convenient facility. Water is right on the camping ground. The comfortable bathroom is only a few minutes away.

The host (David) was very attentive and friendly.
The Orchard Master (Bobby) was another friendly person.

We will definitely return!
