If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
The yurt was so cozy and stocked with everything wr could possibly need. My son and I enjoyed exploring the property during the day. At night we snuggled in front of the wood stove and played with the Lincoln Logs and Roasted or Toasted game. Everything was clean including the outhouse. We would l9ve to stay here again sometime.
Excellent private spot.
Excellent quick get away trip. Everything was simple and made easy. Proper signage all over the place, which is a plus. I am used to camping so I probably brought too much gear.
Loved our stay at this beautiful, spacious, very private yurt nestled in the trees. We walked some trails, took a short drive to the river for a swim, and visited one of the many wineries in the area. There's lots of games and reading material if you just want to chill in the yurt! I'd love to return during the cooler months so I can fire up the wood burning stove or propane fire pit.
This was an incredible stay. The Yurt was such a lovely place to spend the weekend. Very clean and spacious. The site had everything we could’ve needed and more. Justin was super friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay again!
Serene, rejuvenating, perfect!
Tilted Hill was a perfect retreat - enveloped in nature and so convenient to the wineries and activities in the region. Justin was an incredible host, responsive and helpful with all of our requests. If you are looking for comfort and a welcoming environment, definitely pick Justin and the Yurt at Tilted Hill!!! We can’t wait for our next trip.
We love the yurt! 🌲
We love it here... adults and 3 kids all agree! This was our 2nd time staying at the yurt. We stayed 3 nights this year. It's in a beautiful location and so peaceful. We also love the day trips to the Cosumnes River for amazing swimming holes about 15 min. away. The Bear River Reservoir is about 45 min. as well (go to the east side)... it's gorgeous and great place to swim and float.
It's a bit of a trek down a dirt path to the yurt, but well worth it. Tilted Hill provides a wagon for the haul and I recommend bringing your own for less trips and then you can leave yours by the yurt. I also recommend bring extra lanterns, head lamps, battery operated string lights, battery tea candles for the hanging stars, mosquito repellent, hammock (perfect cluster of trees to hang a hammock between the yurt and fire pit), camping chairs for the gas fire pit, garbage bags, dish brush, and dish towel (dish soap provided). There are pots and knives, but bring your own plates, cups, and utensils. There is a jug of water in the yurt and water for dishes on the deck, but bring some extra if you are staying more than 1 night. There is a dining table in the yurt. We brought a folding table to set up the food on this year which was great to keep the dining table free. One thing missing at the yurt is an outdoor picnic table, but sitting on the platform or camping chairs is an option.
We highly recommend this adventure!
My favorite places
This was our third time and it was lovely as ever. The yurt is fabulous. We BBQed every night and enjoyed the complete silence in the forest. You can easily spend the weekend here and not see another person if you’d like. We also enjoyed the river nearby and took a trip to the Bear Lake reservoir. Can’t wait to go back.
Tip: bring your own utensils, plates and cups. They have knives and pots and pans but not much else for cooking.
Will do again
This is one of our first trips out on hipcamp. Let me start off by saying, it will not be our last! Justin was a host that we hope to visit again down the line. Extremely nice and accommodating. We could not open the propane nozzle for the grill outside, and Justin drove out a new propane tank on his ATV to switch them out within minutes! If you want a place where you can roam privately outdoors, enjoy wineries around the area, and also adventuring outside the land, this is the plot for you.
One thing, if you go, it is about a quarter mile downhill to the yurt so pack your wagon lightly so it doesn’t slam into your legs and pack lightly going back up to load up your car. We burnt some calories doing so!
Thank you so much Justin for providing your place for us to stay at. Thank you!
