This place was the perfect getaway. The house is clean, nicely decorated with a quirky alien/space theme, and the kitchen is well appointed. It has everything you need to make a meal. Lori is attentive and an amazing host.
Awesome view meets quirky vibe
The house was extremely clean and everything we needed was provided! Great to be able to have wifi, cooling, and a shower post-hikes in JT to plan out our days and next hikes. One thing that is tough with JT is that dogs are not allowed on the hiking trails, but they are allowed at Lori’s place and on the dirt roads around JT (right by the house) so we walked our dog along La Contenta and Covington Flat road, which turned our great. The house itself has lots of cool and funky art + trinkets that make it fun to explore. Lastly the view of the mountains and the sunset is incredible and the stars are amazing late at night.
Secluded stay and unique atmosphere
This house was along a dirt road that was a bit hard to traverse in our Model 3, but once we arrived we were stunned by the artwork and configuration. It was abound with alien pieces, broken down objects, and had an overall rundown creepy vibe. There was plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful starry night sky, and even a clothes hanger. Great opportunity for a desert hike surrounding the property. The only hiccup was the place was double booked through AirBnb by another group, but since we got there first we claimed Mountain House! Would recommend to anyone looking for a unique spin on a desert getaway!
Aliens and beautiful sunsets
I loved this place! The alien decor was perfect, the house was much more spacious than it looks in pictures, and the property was BEAUTIFUL. I will definitely book this spot again!
Fun family get away!
Super fun. We had a great time in this secluded little desert getaway. Outdoor deck, fire pit and fire wood supplied by host. The place was neat and clean. Some fun and interesting artwork on display. We enjoyed our stay.
A spacious cabin & perfect getaway
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Joshua Tree Mountain house early Feb of 2021 and it was such a fun and memorable experience. The feel of the place is that of a vintage glamp cabin decorated with unique alien/outer space furniture that really add to the uniqueness of the cabin. We were there in the winter and took extra blankets just in case but thankfully the cabins central fireplace kept us warm & cozy. Lori (the owner) was very welcoming and answered all our questions. Also, in case you’re like me and tend to over pack this is a full cabin experience so no need to bring toilet paper, towels, cutlery, coffee, or sheets as they were all kindly provided to us :) Overall I would recommend the mountain house to friends and we would definitely stay again!!
Eclectic yet intentional
I can't recommend Lori's place enough. Navigation and check-in were super easy. Space was plenty. And we had all the amenities one could ask for while glamping. But the real icing on the cake was how intentional the space felt. Our group of 6 all left feeling refreshed, cozy, and well taken care of.
Best rental I have ever stayed at! We loved the quirky style, privacy, and the views are gorgeous. (We lucked out and got snow the last day). It is stocked with everything you need: extra blankets, chairs, and full kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. Lori was also super quick to answer any questions. We had the best time and can’t wait to come back!
