Very private camp on a small olive farm. Geographically close to highways and the town of Novato, Sonoma and Napa wine country, this camp feels remote and secluded. Only one camp on the property to keep it private and special. You basically have your run of the land.  We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground.

We have just renovated our old bar for use as a kitchen, tent pad or sitting area. Check out the new pictures to see what we've done!

Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days.

This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers.

Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. We will always do our best to respect your space.

Please be aware that we are all living in a new fire reality in California. We are in the midst of a drought. This year's rain was almost non-existent. Because of these factors, I will be banning fires during wildfire season. Unfortunately, wildfire season just seems to get longer every year. Trust me, I know fires are a big part of camping. I grew up having campfires all summer long and wish this wasn't necessary but I'm afraid this is the new normal. Thanks for understanding.

We have increased our number of campers from 10 to 12 because we suspected that people were bringing that many anyway. If you are planning on a large group, please just reach out to us so we can all be on the same page. If you think you may be looking at more than 12, we can probably work it with the right communication. We just don't like the surprises. Thanks!

The Olive Farm was a great first camping trip for my pup. It's an easy drive from SF. You have a lot of space to explore and can sleep under the stars but it's also only 5 min from restaurants in Novato. There are a couple swings, a duck pond, a platform area, and the string lights make a nice atmosphere. There's drinking water in the spigot attached to the barn and a sink for cleaning, which made camping easy. There isn't much hiking to do on the property, but there are trails a short drive away. We were only 2 people, but it would be great to go to with a larger group since there's so much space.

The Olive Farm was a perfect oasis for a weekend away from the city. We instantly felt remote and within nature with only a 30 min drive from San Francisco! We enjoyed sitting by the pond for sunset and taking the boats out. The string lights were also a nice touch and made our evening really enjoyable - our only regret was that we only stayed one night!

We had a great stay at the Olive Farm and Sam was a great host. It was nice having access to water, the sink and the wonderful pond for a little sunset boat ride. We look forward to returning soon.

The Olive Farm is quite the gem. Plenty of privacy and space. There were so many different cool things to do on the property, that will leave you and your family with memories galore. The owner Sam was accommodating, and very friendly. It's pretty amazing to feel like your were in the middle of the outdoors eventhough your 5 minutes away from civilization. They did a good job of setting the property. I would book this place again in a heartbeat. Thank you Sam.

This was a peaceful camp for our group of three adults and a kid. Tons of space and privacy. Our daughter loved being rowed in the boat. The solar-powered decorative lights were fantastic in the evening, too. Great stargazing. We also enjoyed getting lunch a few minutes away in downtown Novato.

We had an amazing time! We're used to camping at state parks and the quiet and having the place to ourselves has spoiled us. Our daughters loved the pond and getting to use the boat (bring your own PFDs) was fantastic. They enjoyed the tree swings and all of the open space. The string lights at night were a nice touch too. We hope to come back again!

Sam’s property is incredibly beautiful, easily the best Hipcamp I’ve stayed at. He is a kind, accommodating, and communicative host who clearly has put a lot of work into building a beautiful space for people to stay. Highly recommended.

We had a great time at Sam's Olive Farm Camp! It was lovely to set up camp in such a large open private space and we enjoyed taking out the small boat and kayak out on the pond for short excursions.
