Check out our latest addition to our retreat center -Enchanted Forest Glamping Tent!

Please read the description of the site before you book it! Every site is different.

This camp site allows max 5 people and 1 vehicle. No loud music allowed any time. Quiet time 9p - 9a. Our onsite staff will go around and enforce the rules. Feel free to message/text the host at any time to report violations of rules at any campsites.

Ask host if sites for trailers/RV are available.

The vehicle traffic damages the road and it is very expensive to do road works. Also increased traffic causes disturbances to the residents and neighborhood so we have to strictly limit the number of vehicles. In case you need one more car contact host for approval with parking fee of $15/day for one extra car.

We just paved all the road going to the campsites! Smooth and beautiful asphalt road. Site 10 is away from other campsites and has a dirt road off the paved road.

Welcome to the Enchanted Forest Retreat! We are a meditation retreat center with 45 acres of some of the most gorgeous redwoods in the Santa Cruz mountains to enjoy hiking, creeks and small water fall exploration, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, star gazing, relaxation, meditation and more.

Our campground has running water from a natural spring, Men and Women's Restrooms each with 2 toilets and 1 hot water shower and plugs for charging phones, laundry shed with sink and hot water, one BBQ grill by the fence up above the creek (the kitchen is Staff Only not for campers), and an outdoor amphitheater. We have meditation teaching at the amphitheater and campers are welcomed to attend for free.

25 minutes to Silicon Valley - 25 minutes to Santa Cruz Boardwalk we're centrally located in the south bay. Dogs and kids are welcome - dogs must be picked up after and kept on a leash if other campers are present.

Please note:  This is camping - there may be bugs, critters, dirt, unpredictable weather (pack for the cold, just in case - we get surprise fog often!), early sunrise, no cell data, etc etc. It's not the Hilton - but it is gorgeous. ;)

NOTICE REGARDING RVs and TRAILERS:  While we can not offer hookups, theoretically we have no problem with RVs, the road is steep in a couple of places getting down to the campground and VERY narrow in one spot (10ft). If you feel you're willing to take this risk (we won't be held liable), you're welcome to reach out to us and we can see if the site good for RV/trailers is possible.

The campsites are numbered by "age" not by location.

Site #1 - Well shaded. Distant from other sites. Limit 1 car. Has 1 picnic table.

Site #2 - Well shaded. The most private of our sites. Limit 1 car. Has 1 picnic table.

Site #3 - Well shaded, 2-level terraced site. Fairly private but close to Site #4, if you are a group looking to be nearer to one another. Limit 1 car. Has 1 picnic table.

Site #5 - Very open, sunny and scrubby site. Some shade in the morning as the early sun is rising and then very sunny the remainder of the day. Limit 1 car. Could be private or grouped with Sites 3 & 4. Has 1 picnic table.

Site #6 - A 2-level, mostly shaded site hidden amongst the trees, not far from 5 but feels very private. Limit 1 car. Has 1 picnic table.

Site #10 - Away from all the other campsites, private but quite some distance from the bathroom, about 10 min walk, not good if you have small kids to take to bathroom at night, make sure you are ok with the distance to the bathroom before you book. Drive down the paved road and there is a narrow dirt road on the right hand side before reaching Site 1, turn right on the dirt road, hidden behind the trees at the end there is a pretty big open area with a RV (occupied) there, site 10 is before the RV on the left side, walking down a small path, at an corner with good shade and picnic table. You can pitch your tent in other flat area too if you want.  Limit 1 car. Has 1 picnic table.

Drive down the paved road it is the first campsite, shortly after passing the gate to the campground by a giant redwood tree, it is on your right hand side.

SPECIAL COVID RULES TICK SEASON WARNINGS:

1) MAX 3 HOUSEHOLDS - Due to the current covid restrictions, it's been necessary to restrict use further to maintain compliance and safety to stay open.  The group site is large enough that it can accommodate 2 or 3 max households but if you'll be camping with friends or family from outside your "bubble", please respect mask/social distancing guidelines when mingling.  We realize these are not ideal conditions but better than no camping, right? =}

2) NO OPEN FIRES - The nearby recent fires have left everyone very sensitive to fire risk so no, we're sorry but fires will still not be allowed under any conditions.  Your propane or coleman style camp stoves are ok for cooking.  Please bring nothing that requires coals/wood, etc.

3) TICK SEASON WARNING: The Santa Cruz mountains are tick territory and depending on the time of year ticks are easy to pick up so doing a tick check at the end of the day is highly recommended.  If this is a concern, please use tick repellent and look to the county HSA for more information.

Now that that's handled - Welcome to the Enchanted Forest Retreat!

Shopping such as Safeway, Costco and the big box stores are 20 minutes away in Soquel; however, we have a charming little market (Summit Center) 3.5 miles away that has a great selection of groceries, drinks and hot foods, etc.

While we are not strictly ADA compliant, the facilities should be able to host most. Please feel free to reach out with any questions and we'll help however we can!

My boyfriend and I were really excited to camp but was very disappointed in the lack of communication between the host and I. To start with there was never real directions given to us once we booked, we were just given GPS coordinates and the lack of light within the campground was very limited if any. But once we finally got there and started to set up camp there was some unsettling noises coming from the woods. Between given no real directions, no communication, and being freaked out late at night I would definitely not recommend this campground. My boyfriend and I ended up packing up and leaving.

Campground was easy to find with directions provided. Our site was pretty, not many flat spots for tents but good for two cars. Friday night was nice and quiet but Saturday was extremely loud. It felt like the noise went all night, we could hear it through ear plugs and they started yelling at 6am the next morning so we couldn’t even sleep in after being kept up all night. Definitely not the retreat we had hoped for. For a place with retreat in the title quiet hrs should be enforced. Flush toilets and running water was a nice perk but the bathroom and garbage area were dirty and over flowing by Sunday morning with a full campground.

We stayed for two nights at site 6 and it was cozy. Perfect for 3-4 people with one standard picnic table. It was easy to drive in and find our spot. The bathrooms were fairly * clean and having the shower and washer/dryer option was nice. Please make a sign informing where to get potable water.

We got lucky on Friday but some new folks checked in the next day and Saturday night the noise reminded me of a dodger game. We can confirm that this camp is a party spot. If you’re a light sleeper or want a quiet weekend getaway I can’t recommend this campground.

So this crew across from us was partying until 1am, only to dart back up at 6am like some sort of monsters. According to host they come check *if* they get a complaint. When they get a complaint the will come check and leave, only to let the party people pick up where they left off.

We would have complained if we had signal or if we knew where the staff was. I was this close to go Karenly confront that pack a loud drunk dudes in my Scooby Doo pajamas but my friends calmed me down.

I would have preferred the staff was proactive and didn’t wait to get complaints from us. That comes off as lazy. The noise is an ongoing issue from what’s I’ve read on other reviews. And look, I totally get you can’t foresee what others are gonna do, and you tried, but I think a disclaimer saying “hey honestly this campground is loud so don’t forget bring your earplugs because we’re not strict at enforcing quiet hours. Sorry for the inconvenience “ could be super useful.

Campsite was a disappointment. From garbage left at site to a rickety broken chair and a long mountain hike to the bathroom that may not be ideal for little ones or older folk. Tried calling once we saw there may be other sites closer to bathroom but never received a call back. Just hope that in an actual emergency someone might get through to camp host. Stay away

(Note: I have never felt the need to write a poor review before )

Absolutely gorgeous property. Could use a good cleaning as there was trash, drywall, mirrors, old couches and broken down vehicles laying around. We had a beautiful spot in site 2 but unfortunately our last night was ruined by a group that brought their own DJ and partied till 2. Still a beautiful site and loved hiking around the creek and can’t fault the owners for their guests. Just wish they put a stop to it when we asked them. Needs a good cleaning. Saw a lot of campers confused as to where their site was and driving around for 20 minutes. Not hard to number all the sites clearly. Don’t stay at site 5.

Site 2. Fairly level for RTT but easily rectified. Site 2. Beautiful back drop of trees. Perfect for hammocks
