Great spot on the American River, awesome location with lots to do in the area. Since it was looking to be a very wet weekend, Aaron called and offered us one of the Group sites with a canopy, which was a Godsend because it did rain! The site was well equipped with plenty of propane to fire up the stove and propane fire ring, and we had plenty of space under the canopy to dine and keep some gear dry.
The River was a short walk, and it was gorgeous. Bathrooms were nice and tidy, and it looks like it would be an awesome place to camp in the Spring or late summer when the weather was a bit warmer. Camp host was really nice!

One of the kids did come home with a bad case of poison oak, and another with some bug bites so steer clear of the dead leaves and you should be fine!

Will definitely be back, we loved it!

It’s a great campsite just a few minutes walk to the river where there’s a shared sand beach (including volleyball and corn hole) as well as a rocky one that we had to ourselves all day Saturday! The campsite has plenty of space for 4+ tents, shade, a sink with running water, a picnic table, and is close to portapotties. Only downside is the price which seemed a bit expensive for what it is but the hosts were really kind people and approved our last minute camping trip - we had an awesome time with our friends and dogs! Definitely recommend.

Our group rented both Riverside and Canopy sites for 4th of July weekend. We put all of our tents in the canopy site because it was nice and shady and also had a super convenient water/sink setup, and we used the Riverside site as more of a hangout area in the evenings after the sun went down. We rented silent disco headphones so that we could have a dance party and not bother any other campers after quiet hours :) Our group had a great experience and the temperatures in the high 90s were no problem since we were so close to the river to cool down all day. There is a nice deep spot in the river with an eddy that made for great swimming. Would love to return and camp here again!
