Incredible hospitality that matches the views. Removed from the road giving the true feeling of being in nature while still having plenty of comfort. Great atmosphere, met many awesome people, and Ravens Landing went above and beyond for me. 10 out of 10 Thank you so much!
It was a unique place. Friendly host. Peacocks we’re cool to see. I had mixed feelings about this place because there’s not much to do around the area. We went to check out Clear Lake and was warned by the locals that the water is toxic! It gets very hot during the day and very cold at night. Last, there’s Wi-Fi but it’s $20 per group. The dining area was well maintained. Be prepared to socialize with other groups.
This is the coolest camping spot! We were so happy to find this. Lanya is an awesome host and all of the shared amenities were great. There are lots of friendly animals - dogs, chickens, peacocks, and even a deer named Fen! Our group is excited to go back.
Absolutely beautiful art, Layna's passion comes through with every aspect of her stunning property. She built a camp that fosters conversation and community, while still allowing for privacy and an individual experience. Absolutely lovely place for people and animals, and the burnt trees lent a surreal and otherworldly nature to this retreat from reality.
I don't want to say honest (and amazing) things about Layna's Raven's Landing because great things are the truth, and I'd rather say things that are less than true because I rather not too many people discover it.
I don't want the secret spoiled or her land overrun the next time I have a chance to go.
It's beautiful. Layna and Rose are amazing and welcoming. The community style cooking and eating means you'll make new friends, right away. You have your choice of grill, firepit, or stove. The peacocks are loud. Fenn - the very social deer is happy to make his way into your food stores (or tent) if you're not careful. There are friendly dogs, children, and a trampoline. The views over the valley are epic no matter your vantage point - even if that's from a compost toilet. You can dunk your head in the pond. Cache Creek is 10 minutes away and makes for great river splashing. There are many epic hikes.
Raven's Landing is full of love and creativity. If you're lucky enough to go, you'll want to go back (and back, and back, and back).
Thanks Layna!
Great simple camping with the luxury of an open-air communal kitchen. Intermittent big wind, plenty of happy-to-travel star thistle, minimal shade, and scarce (but well managed) water, along with unpaved surfaces are all part of the raw beauty of this place and its friendly fauna. With low light pollution here, the night sky sparkles. The host is wonderful. Layna's descriptions are spot on, including the note that if you want shade, bring it with you.
What a neat space! Raven's Landing is revitalizing and upgrading since it was burnt down in 2014. The kitchen area and communal space is continually being renovated with organic and recycled materials, giving the place a homely but renewed vibe. The artwork and live peacocks (we named them Kevin 1 and Kevin 2) adds unforgettable character to the area. There are several campsite areas, some are cozy and enclosed by shrubbery while others are open to view the vast landscape. We enjoyed our enclosed space behind the garden where we could build our campfire right in front of our tent. It was convenient drive through the property and park the car near our site. Would recommend camping here for a quiet getaway or to socialize with the volunteers and landowners who plan festivals and regular outings.
This is truly a magical spot. Layna is so kind. Her space is unique. The views are amazing. ❤️
