About this space
The property is located off a quiet country road on 17-acres in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range bordering the Bear River. We are located 12 minutes from Downtown Auburn and 1 hour from Lake Tahoe.
The space
A 13 ft Bell Tent is setup for you with 4 single beds inside (beds are made with sheets, comforters, and pillows). The tent sits approximately 75 ft above the river with breathtaking views of the river and canyon. If you are coming with a group, there is over an acre of flat land which is perfect for any type of tent setup.
At the tent site you’ll have access to a table and chairs, lounge chairs, picnic table, gas BBQ, basketball hoop and balls, rock campfire, kayaks, and a porta potty. A short 3-minute walk away from the tent you’ll find the shore of the Bear River.
Guest access
The tent site is only accessible by 4-wheel drive vehicles. If you do not have a 4-wheel drive vehicle there is parking for one or two vehicles at the house. The tent site is less than a quarter mile walk downhill from the house.
River access
If you’d like to visit the river to hang out, swim, or fish you can follow the dirt road next to the tent down to the river (3-minute walk). The riverfront has lounge chairs, a picnic table, a paddle boat and kayaks. The riverbank has small, rounded pebbles and rocks so water shoes are suggested for comfort when going in and out of the water (recommended but not needed).
Come and enjoy the scenic views of the river, forest, and wildlife!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay and will be back. This camp is very private and serene. We enjoyed fly fishing and swimming in the refreshing and cool Bear River without anyone else around. The only sounds around were the rushing water, birds, frogs, and crickets. The scenery around you is beautiful. In the evening a few mosquitos came out so a little bug spray on exposed skin did the trick. Do use a four wheel drive vehicle not only because you may need a little extra clearance on the rocky road but also because the road is on the steep side in a few spots. Overall it was a great stay and feel this is a wonderful location to relax and enjoy all that the river and the generous hosts offer!

Really loved the place!! Our stay was pleasant! It’s very private and spacious, did not expect. River has the right current and we bathe in the river 😅 There were mosquitoes during our stay, make sure to bring some bug spray. Also, it was nice that they provided kayaks, paddle, boat, and everything else. Highly recommend! Will definitely come back and share this with friends and family! Perfect for little kids, if you have any.
Owner’s very nice as well!

my group had such a lovely stay! Everything was set up for us: there were lounge chairs, tables for relaxing, a bear box on site, and kayaks and a paddle for use in the river. the beds were nice too! very comfy camping experience, would 100% stay here again :)
My husband and I and our 2 little dogs very much enjoyed this glampsite. The pictures don’t don’t do it enough justice. Though the main house is just a short drive up the hill, you feel very secluded. You get a 180 view of the river. The tent is perfectly set off to the side with chairs behind it set up for an amazing view of the river right below. Bring your binoculars if you’re into bird watching. The host does provide benches, porta-potty, bbq grill & propane. Easy quick walk down the hill to access the river for swimming and fishing. I would def come back and bring my family next time. This place is a gem. The only thing I would suggest is putting a double bed on one side of the tent (for couples), as there were only 2 twin beds. Other than that, everything else was perfect. Thoughtful and friendly host!

Beautiful property!! Host was friendly and helpful. We had the river all to ourself. So peaceful and quite. Don’t want to say much more, I’m going to be selfish and keep this a hidden gem! Can’t wait to go back.
Their spot on the Bear River is so peaceful and beautiful. The site is completely private and Megan and her husband are gracious and accommodating. Love the outdoor furniture they provide as well as the tent. Did not see a single mosquito or bee during our 2 night stay. Highly recommend.
We had an amazing time at Megan's private river oasis! The property was absolutely stunning with all the amenities you would need for a perfect camping experience. The campsite had ample furniture (lounge chairs, dining tables, picnic tables, grill) and a huge comfortable bell tent with two twin beds for you to sleep in. Just a short walk down from the camp is a beautiful river that is perfect for swimming and fishing. There even are lounge chairs by the river to relax in. We caught so many fish and had the best time, our dog did too! We have already recommended Megan's river oasis to our friends. It really is a hidden gem and we will definitely be back.
Private is right! My girlfriend and I needed a break from work to spend quality time with our dogs. Mission Accomplished! Megan and her husband were excellent hosts! The river flowing through the rocks, a cute foot paddle boat to enjoy and a nice area to swim. Also has a cute large tent already setup when you arrive! I will be returning with family in the future!
