Warm greetings to you from our piece of paradise! Spring is here, flowers are out, birds are chirping and we have been working hard to ensure our camp is ready for the 2021 season. This is still a new reality we all are getting used to, please be kind and mindful while at the camp and adventuring in the area, respecting others’ space and maintaining the safe distance. We are unsure what official COVID-19 guidelines may be at the time of your visit but we will just mirror them. Please be flexible, we truly appreciate your understanding.
We are assessing the COVID-19 situation and are prepared to adapt as needed. We understand the concerns around the virus and would like to share with you the steps we are taking to ensure a safe, relaxing environment for all our guests and staff:
- Hand soaps, sanitizers, and disinfectants are available in all common areas for regular use.
- We recommend using the private bathroom facilities in your camper. Our public restrooms are closed to guests staying in their own RVs but will be available to guests staying in our rental campers, at tent sites or in camper vans / small trailers without a bathroom.
- No need to check-in in person. Your welcome information, any latest updates, and check-in details will be emailed to you within a week prior to the arrival.
For everyone’s safety, we ask you to please:
- Refrain from booking your stay if you’ve had exposure and message us to reschedule or cancel if you develop symptoms or test positive.
- Please be respectful of the maximum occupancy in the rentals, as stated in the listing. Infants, children, and adults all count as one.
- As per May 1st 2020 order, the use of face masks while in public in Mono County and interacting with people outside of your household is required, in effect through the end of the COVID-19 pandemic emergency declaration. Please come prepared. We will ask you to wear the masks when staying in common areas around the camp (they are especially required inside our public restrooms, except when taking a shower or washing your face) but not when at your rental.
- Please keep at least a 6 foot distance from anyone that isn’t in your traveling party, including other guests and PS team members.
- Consider getting all your supplies before coming to our community.
Now more than ever it is important to spend time connecting in the great outdoors. We are excited to welcome you, and are ready to share campfires, starry nights, and our serene area with you. The mountains are a place to get back to basics, a place to explore, to breathe. It is a place where social distancing happens naturally. We're a husband and wife team and this is our adopted home - a small RV Park & Campground located directly on the shores of Bridgeport Reservoir. We believe in campfires, starry nights, good laughs, exploration, a deep sleep and an early rise. The mountains are a place to get back to basics, a place to explore, to breathe. So turn off your phone and turn on your senses. When you arrive, we won’t hand you a list of rules but we may ask you to join us for a campfire, remind you to conserve water, and to separate your trash so we can recycle it. That’s about it, oh yeah: relax, it’s your vacation.
It’s important to us that our guests don’t feel they are renting a camping site as much as they’re immersing themselves into the outdoor experience. You may just want to lay in one of our hammocks and read for three days. For the more adventurous, we offer a full slate of self-guided recreational activities such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, ATVing, rock climbing, biking, natural water slides, stand up paddle boards and so much more. Do you enjoy bird watching? There are hundreds of different species right here at Paradise Shores, which is located on a major bird migration route.
Please note that the reservoir is low this summer (water level changes based on the winter snowpack and lowers during the summer months) and swimming isn't currently available. We recommend the nearby Twin Lakes just off Bridgeport if you would like to swim. We still get awesome sunsets and sunrises over the Sawtooth Ridge though!
We do have modern conveniences such as wifi internet; however, we encourage our guest to “unplug” and immerse in the slow pace life instead. If you come to stay with us over the weekend, you'll be welcome to join us around the campfire and connect with fellow campers (we have bonfires on most Saturdays). We're the best fit for campers who appreciate a safe space with a friendly welcoming atmosphere, and are keen to embrace community vibe and meet others.
We hope Paradise Shores becomes your home as it is ours. It’s located in one of the most spectacular areas in the world. We’re surrounded on three sides by the high Sierra Nevada Mountains. Yosemite National Park, Tuolumne Meadows, Mono Lake, June Lake, Virginia Lakes, Twin Lakes, and the historic gold-mining town of Bodie are all within a short drive from here.
Please note, our minimum stay requirements in the Sierra camper may vary some through the season, based on remaining available dates and our enhanced cleaning schedule.
Occasionally, we relax the minimum at short notice (within a week or so prior to the date) and based on availability, please ask.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at Paradise Shores. Paradise Shores was conveniently situated for us to explore the Eastern Sierras for the first time: the area has a unique feeling of the frontier, from the rugged, panoramic vistas to its central history in the gold rush. The old town of Bodie was fascinating.
The Sierra Camper was cozy in the evenings, and a welcome respite from the heat during the days. Thoughtfully designed, and the bunk beds were a big hit with the two kids. We loved the stones-throw distance from the water, and the memorable sunsets against the mountain backdrop. Also, it's a 5 minute drive from the cute town of Bridgeport for picking up groceries and restaurants for take-out. We liked the Bridgeport Inn and the Burger/Mexican joints.
Veronika and Alan were gracious, organized hosts, and went above and beyond for us -- We appreciated that they were discrete, but also very responsive. I felt they were taking all the precautions to keep the community safe during COVID times.
Loved our stay....
We LOVED our stay. It was my first “glamping” experience in an RV and it was super fun. It had all the basics so I brought my own food and charcoal. My son had a ton of fun swimming and playing down at the water. There is an amazing view of the snow capped sierras and and it is truly peaceful. The RV has a cozy deck with bbq and fire ring. There was a lot of children who all played together and had a blast. We ventured out to different lakes and the hot springs. There are many adventures within a short drive and if you need anything the town is 5 minutes away. Be prepared for mosquitos and mayflies as the location is near standing water. It is very hot in summer and there is no shade by the beach so bring an umbrella and use sunscreen. I stayed in Sierra camper and was having to kill wasps inside my RV daily. I’m not sure how they were getting in.... but I plugged up every opening to the outside I could find and they still got in. The RV was super nice, complete kitchen and AC! We were cool and comfy. I 100% recommend staying at paradise shores. It’s truly a gem.
Lovely spot in the sierras
We had a wonderful stay at Paradise Shores. My kids have been dying to stay in a camper and they were not disappointed. Alan and Veronika were so kind and accommodating. They really care about special touches and ensuring everyone is comfortable. You see it in the beautiful gardens across the RV Park, the hang out spots and the community bathrooms. The spot could not be more beautiful. We loved kayaking, paddle boating, swimming in the lake, and watching the gorgeous sunset. Bridgeport is a great spot to explore the Sierras. I want to go back!
