Warm greetings to you from our piece of paradise! This is still a new reality we all are getting used to, please be kind and mindful while at the camp and adventuring in the area, respecting others’ space and maintaining the safe distance. We truly appreciate your flexibility and understanding.
We understand the concerns around the virus and would like to share with you the steps we are taking to ensure a safe, relaxing environment for all our guests and staff:
- Hand soaps, sanitizers, and disinfectants are available in all common areas for regular use.
- We recommend using the private bathroom facilities in your camper. Our public restrooms are closed to guests staying in their own RVs but will be available to guests staying in our rental campers, at tent sites or in camper vans / small trailers without a bathroom.
- No need to check-in in person. Your welcome information, any latest updates, and check-in details will be emailed to you within a week prior to the arrival.
For everyone’s safety, we ask you to please:
- Refrain from booking your stay if you’ve had exposure and message us to reschedule or cancel if you develop symptoms or test positive.
- Please be respectful of the maximum occupancy in the rentals, as stated in the listing. Infants, children, and adults all count as one.
- Starting June 15th, the face masks are not required outdoors. We will only ask you to wear them inside our public restrooms (if you would like to use them in addition to or instead of the private bathroom in your rental), except when taking a shower or washing your face. Please come prepared.
- Please keep at least a 6 foot distance from anyone that isn’t in your traveling party, including other guests and PS team members.
- Consider getting all your supplies before coming to our community.
Now more than ever it is important to spend time connecting in the great outdoors. We are excited to welcome you, and are ready to share campfires, starry nights, and our serene area with you. The mountains are a place to get back to basics, a place to explore, to breathe. It is a place where social distancing happens naturally. This is a great opportunity to be together in Nature and not to be isolated at home. Together (from a safe distance) we will remain healthy, positive, and strong!
Please read through the entire listing to find out more about Baja Camper and our camp. Can't wait to hear from you and to be part of your adventures in the Sierra :-)
The Baja Camper is the first and perhaps our favorite rental trailer. It's where we lived while we hatched the plan to adopt Paradise Shores. We had a fabulous time and fell in love with the Mexican culture, art and hospitality and wanted to share that experience with our guests at Paradise Shores. Make sure to bring some tequila to truly soak in the atmosphere!
The Baja is also where Rattle Snake Jim prefers to stay. Jim is one colorful character. One year while staying here, he was bitten by a rattler. The doctor said with treatment he had a 75% chance of living, but it would cost him well over hundred thousand dollars. Without treatment his chance of survival was only 25%. Uninsured at the time, Jim decided to roll the dice. He was curled up in the Baja, in a world of hurt, caringly looked after by his wife Denise. When he emerged ten days later he was wearing that rattler's tail on his hat, and has been ever since.
Our Baja themed camper is comfortable, fun, and offers great views of the lake and the mountains. It is ideal for a couple, but can sleep three adults. The sleeping options consist of queen size bedroom and a pull out couch located in the living room/kitchen. Free WiFi internet, TV with a DVD player, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster are all provided. The kitchen is equipped with utensils, cookware, glasses, cups, plates, paper towels, soap, and all the typical kitchenware. Bed sheets, towels, and dish towels are ready for your use as well, and hot spring towels are available upon request. The trailer has a cooling system and an outside area with outdoor furniture. We also provide one-use supply of charcoal briquettes, to get you set up for your grilling, and you can buy locally grown firewood at our office. So, all you really need to bring is some clothing and food. Pretty much everything else is covered.
The rate includes space rent, propane, wifi, parking spot for one car as well as 12% Mono County occupancy tax (TOT). We can also accommodate an extra car, if needed, in our overflow parking. Please message us prior to booking with dates you're hoping to stay with us, so we can enable the "Extra Vehicle Fee" option for you.
We're a husband and wife team and this is our adopted home - a small RV Park & Campground located directly on the shore of Bridgeport Reservoir. We believe in campfires, starry nights, good laughs, exploration, a deep sleep and an early rise. The mountains are a place to get back to basics, a place to explore, to breathe. So turn off your phone and turn on your senses. When you arrive, we won’t hand you a list of rules but we may ask you to join us for a campfire, remind you to conserve water, and to separate your trash so we can recycle it. That’s about it, oh yeah: relax, it’s your vacation.
It’s important to us that our guests don’t feel they are renting a camping site as much as they’re immersing themselves into the outdoor experience. You may just want to lounge outside and read for days. For the more adventurous, we offer a full slate of self-guided recreational activities such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, ATVing, rock climbing, biking, natural water slides, stand up paddle boards and so much more. Do you enjoy bird watching? There are hundreds of different species right here at Paradise Shores, which is located on a major bird migration route.
We do have modern conveniences such as wifi internet; however, we encourage our guest to “unplug” and immerse in the slow pace life instead. If you come to stay with us over the weekend, you're welcome to join us around the campfire and connect with fellow campers (we have fires on most Saturdays). We're the best fit for campers who appreciate a safe space with a friendly welcoming atmosphere, and are keen to embrace community vibe and meet others.
Please note that we've had a modest snow pack this winter, which will translate to the lower water level in the reservoir that typically decreases later in the summer anyway. Swimming isn't available, particularly in late July onwards. We recommend the nearby Twin Lakes just off Bridgeport if you would like to go for a swim, while you're welcome to use our complimentary kayaks and SUP on the reservoir. We get awesome sunsets and sunrises over the Sawtooth Ridge nonetheless!
Did we mention that we love dogs? Be sure to bring you four legged friend when staying with us (we can accommodate up to two dogs in the camper but ask that they stay off the furniture - beds, sofas etc. - and are not left in the trailer unattended). Please let us know if you're planning on bringing a dog and what's their breed at the time of requesting the booking. As much as we love dogs, we won't be able to accommodate heavily shedding pets that aren't house trained. With dog wash and off-leash dog beach, your adventure pup will be a happy camper here! Please note that the dog beach can be quite limited when the water level in the reservoir is high. On the upside, the lake looks absolutely gorgeous then! When the water level is low, there's plenty of beach for walks, running and playing with your pup.
We hope Paradise Shores becomes your home as it is ours. It’s located in one of the most spectacular areas in the world. We’re surrounded on three sides by the high Sierra Nevada Mountains. Yosemite National Park, Tuolumne Meadows, Mono Lake, June Lake, Virginia Lakes, Twin Lakes, and the historic gold-mining town of Bodie are all within a short drive from here.
Please note, our minimum stay requirements in the Baja camper varies through the season, based on remaining available dates and our enhanced cleaning schedule.
Occasionally, we relax the minimum at short notice (within a week or so prior to the date) and based on availability, please ask.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We really enjoyed our stay in the Baja Camper. It was just two of us staying, and the camper itself had more than enough room for us. It also had everything that we needed: AC, a fully functional kitchen, potable water, wifi, even a nice TV. Peter was very friendly and responsive. Whenever we had a question we would get timely answers and suggestions.
We 💗 paradise shores
Super fantasy stay yet again at Paradise Shores. So much to do and such an endearing place to stay in Bridgeport. Clean, lovely landscaping, comfy beds, awesome hosting. Our 4 year old remed the Baja from two years ago and couldn’t wait to make his bed again and go SUP paddle boarding in the mornings. Xoxo Paradise Shores!
Wonderful stay in paradise!
This cute Mexican inspired camper was a sweet getaway. The hosts Veronika and Allen have really thought of everything! Super communicative, clean and considerate. Thoughtful touches throughout the camper and grounds. They provided a welcome guide full ideas and tips for exploring the surrounding area. While this is the oldest camper on site, it is a classic. We cooked all meals inside but showered in the communal bathrooms where the pressure is great and the water was hot. Ample amenities including cooking utensils, hygienic products in the communal bathrooms and extra towels for your trip to the hot springs. And once again so clean! We loved spending the evenings making s'mores on the pergola covered patio. Mountain views from Back of the camper.
We made great memories here and are already planning our next trip back! Thanks for sharing your piece of paradise with us!
Such a cute spot
Really enjoyed my stay at paradise shores. Stayed in the Baja camper, felt like it had everything I needed. Loved the little patio area next to the RV, great for relaxing and enjoying the view of the reservoir. Veronika was a great host, provided lots of helpful information and was quick to respond to questions. Hope to stay there again soon!
We had a lovely stay at Paradise Shores Camp. During this tough times of dealing with a pandemic, it is comforting to know that our host takes the time and care to ensure the safety of the guests. There is plenty to do on the site and in the surrounding area. Dog-friendly is a PLUS in our book. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!
Paradise Shores Camp is a little gem! We stayed in the wonderful Baja camper and it was magical! We arrived on a Sat. which turns out to be the sing-along and smores night around the communal fire pit, what a treat! Early in the morning we borrowed the two kayaks graciously left at your disposal, and paddle for an hour on the reservoir while the sun light was slowly showing up above the surrounding mountains. The camp is not even a 30min drive from Mono Lake, Twin Lakes, and other wonderful places to go for beautiful hikes. This was a great find!
