Wake up to the sweet sounds of birdsong and a running creek in the midst of a unique old-growth forest of madrones, black oaks and incense cedars that soar hundreds of feet high into the sky. You will be the ONLY campers on our land which has a sacred waterfall that runs year round over beautiful smooth boulders and borders Native American Nisenan tribal land as well as Champion Mine State Park. Surrounded by forest, you are also only a mile’s walk/bike ride into town where you can take advantage of Nevada City’s incredible coffee/cafes, farm to table restaurants, pizzerias, breweries, wineries and fabulous shops...as well as its local theatre, music, art galleries and year-round festivals. Or don't go anywhere and instead explore the extensive watershed on and around our land where you can mediate in the cave behind our waterfall, splash in the creek, or pan for gold! Our land is also connected to one of the most beautiful hiking trail systems in the county that take you the famous suspension bridge over Deer Creek, a place of stunning beauty (and a very cool swimming/hangout spot for kids/families). We are also a short drive from multiple fabulous swimming spots on the Yuba River as well as mines, parks, and museums that reflect the county's rich Gold Rush history.

A peaceful weekend at soaring trees
We found this gorgeous campsite no problems (arrived around 10:30 Friday night). Drove down driveway, unloaded and set up tent just fine. Water music from creek and waterfall lovely to go to sleep to. We had great breakfast at the Pine Cafe in Grass Valley and spent better part of day exploring and hiking Empire Mine - coming back to enjoy lazy evening and dinner back at camp. This is a really special location and we'd recommend it to anyone wanting peace, beauty and solitude.
Beautiful spot next to a creek
The camping spot was great. It sits next to a small river/creek with waterfalls down below the camping space. It’s next to a quiet road but it generally doesn’t feel like it as the space dips far below the road but you can still see occasional pedestrians or cyclists mostly in the morning from the camping site.
Louise was a great host with many recommendations for the area.
We are so happy to have found this spot so close to home! Definitely a hidden gem. We spent all day by the waterfall and enjoyed the peace, quiet and the woods surrounding.
Louise was a exceptional host and very kind.
Will definitely book again!
Sweet spot to camp in nevada city
As a local Nevada City resident, I was curious to try out this spot for an easy-button car camping trip with my kids and some friends. This spot is a gem. The location is wooded and secluded enough to feel like you are getting away into the beauty of the outdoors - but it is also located close enough to the heart of Nevada City to allow you to take a 1-mile stroll into town for some treats. You can easily access the Deer Creek Tribute Trail system and check out the Angkula Seo suspension bridge. There is a gorgeous waterfall on the property itself that is easily accessible by a short walk, and there was plenty of flat space for parking and setting up tents. 10/10 would stay here again!
Great Location! This is a great place to stay, far away from the major roads to feel remote, yet close enough to walk to town. I did all the local hikes that Louise suggested, and they did not disappoint. The nearby river is beautiful, and a refreshing dip from the heat. The site was flat, clean, and convenient. I'd love to return. Thanks!
Soaring Trees was the perfect spot for our brief getaway. The location was perfect! Close to town yet far enough to really relax and enjoy nature. Falling asleep listening to the creek and waking up to the chirping birds was magical. The site itself was very well kept and clean, and the trails were an added perk. We’ll be back for sure :)
great space to camp especially during the busy season. close to town but doest feel like it and a 15-20 min drive to all the swim spots.
sweet creek, birds are lovely. read directions well on how to find it.
Best. weekend. ever.
I booked this campsite for my friend’s birthday weekend and it was amazing! Louise was so nice and easy to communicate with and gave us tons of recommendations on fun things to do and places to eat. The campsite was only 15 minutes from the main Yuba river bridge and super close to Nevada city, but it felt like we were in our own private forest hidden away from everything. The creek was beautiful and the Yuba was excellent of course! At first my friends were nervous about the bucket toilet but it was actually quite accommodating once we got the hang of it haha. The driveway was steep but our 85 Nissan Maxima made it up and down no problem. All in all we had the best weekend ever and would definitely recommend :)
