Welcome to Sky Mountain! Our family is happy to share with you this beautiful land in the Los Padres National Forest. Enjoy mountain and ocean views overlooking Santa Barbara. Camp among a unique variety of trees --palms, pines, oaks, & chaparral. Includes electricity, kitchen amenities, filtered water, composting toilet, solar shower, and internet and cellular service. Very beautiful & convenient location!
Window Rock: This beautiful spot can accommodate up to 3 adults ( total of 4 people if coming with children). A 7x9 foot tent or smaller is recommended for this site. (A tent and sleeping pads can be set up and waiting for you if desired, see add on below.) A very small 1 person or child’s tent could be set up additionally, if the first tent is smaller. Parking for 1 car about 125 feet from site is available. (*No vehicle camping/sleeping.) Be aware that a short walk up a path and steps is required to get to the site. The shared solar shower is near this site. The shared compost toilet is about 100 feet up a mountain path. We have a second campsite (Shady Pines) that is just above this one. It may or may not be occupied while you are visiting. If you have a larger group, you may book both spots! The tent will be in shade till mid morning, so you can sleep in later without overheating! Also, we do not have bears, so you don’t need to lock food up! Fires NOT allowed. *Please read this entire post before booking. *Note check in (5pm) , and check out (3pm) times.

Amenities: Shared by 1-3 camping sites. Being travelers and campers ourselves, we realize that having certain amenities makes the whole experience more enjoyable and can save a lot of money not having to waste food or eat out for every meal. * Electricity: Available for charging phones, etc. *. Wi-fi: High-speed internet (of course, you don’t have to tell the kids ;-) * Kitchen: Filtered water, sink, small refrigerator, toaster, Instant Pot (pressure cooker for oatmeal/rice/beans/soups/etc. and sautéing), microwave oven, and a plug in teapot for hot water. Also supplied are bowls, plates, cups, and eating utensils. *. Shower: Solar bag for warm water (hose is also available) *. Toilet: Composting “Luggable Loo” provided in a private location Other Details and Considerations: > We are a family Hip Camp with children, pets (two dogs and a cat), and neighbors (about 275 feet away) > Road Noise -- We live close to Highway 154, which means we are close and quick to many places but also hear some traffic noise from this two-lane road. Please take this into consideration before booking. Most people aren’t too bothered by it (and some compare the sound to waves as they come and go). > FIRE BAN -- Absolutely no fire! We live in an extremely high-risk fire area with very dry vegetation, so no campfires, propane stoves, candles, smoking, incense, lighters, matches, etc. > Arrival and departure -- Arrival between 5-10 pm. Departure by 3:30 pm. ~ We suggest that you arrive during daylight for easier setup and orientation to the land and your campsite. If you need to arrive after dark, please let us know so we can best guide you when you arrive. > Quiet hours -- Very quiet from 10:30pm to 7:30am, Semi quiet in the evening from 9:00-10:30 and in the morning till 8:00 am. Thank you for your consideration of others and of our neighbors. > Musical instruments, or music—Live music is greatly welcomed! Playing pre-recorded music on devices is allowed if the volume is low and is used in consideration of others and during non-quiet hours. > Intoxicants -- Please no illegal drugs or excessive use of legal substances. > Parking – We have a somewhat bumpy driveway that is quite steep. Most cars are able to drive up, but very low cars are not recommended. If you have a very low car, you can contact me to see if I can accommodate with a farther parking arrangement during the time of your desired stay. Also please let me know if you have an extra large van or truck, we are not be able to accommodate oversized vehicles. > Children – We love to have children come :-) Be aware that we are on a mountain, therefore there are slopes where small children/toddlers will need to be watched carefully.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Mila was a great host that was very accommodating to my fluctuating arrival time. The camping spot was great, although there was some traffic noise.
Thank you Mila for opening up your property to make my visit to Santa Barbara a little easier!
This spot is lovely. There are a few camp spots so you may have neighbors close by. It's beautiful and secluded. There is some noise from the street below but not much. It's a short walk up to the site so you need to be able to climb a short hill.
Great location and accommodations
Host and family were very nice and accommodating. Nice little spot on their property near the beach and and Solvang. Very close to Cold Spring Tavern which was a great spot to go to as well. Great if you’ve never camped before. We had a running filtered sink, mini fridge, toaster, and microwave which were very all convenient to use
Beautiful, secluded spot for tents
We had a great time staying at this spot. Easy access to Santa Barbara, beautiful trees, rock-free sleeping area, nice outdoor kitchen setup, and sweet hosts. Do pay attention to their warning about low cars having a hard time managing the driveway, but with some patience, you’ll be fine.
Mila's setup is a delight. This is the smaller, shadier of the two spaces, with perhaps less privacy because it is directly below the other campsite, although I was the only guest during my stay. My tent remained well shaded through my 11am departure. A beautiful rock formation forms one "wall" of the site, creating a pleasant sense of enclosure with views beyond it. A hammock under the trees nearby was a pleasure and a child-sized picnic table and benches provided ample dining space for myself but could be tight for other adult-sized guests. The solar-heated shower was warm by the time of my late morning shower, although it was exposed to the parking space below. The outdoor kitchen space is generously set up with all that one needs for microwaved meals, with very good cooling properties in the fridge/freezer and additional touches including fruit from the property and the best granola I've ever had. The outdoor sink drains into a plant bed and serves as a hand washing station on the way back from the outdoor potty as well as a dish washing station with good sun exposure for quick air drying. The property's proximity to town (Santa Barbara) was surprising despite its more remote-feeling location. A wonderful getaway while close to both the city and country destinations further along the road. Mila and her helper were very welcoming and easy to communicate with. I was shown around and free to enjoy this special place on my own with the family on site keeping to themselves yet available if needed.
