Get away from the hustle and bustle of Silicon Valley and pitch your tent in the Santa Cruz Mountains... in the woods or on the grass! Lupin Lodge is a clothing-optional resort that has been around since 1935. We are a family-friendly resort, and we work hard to keep our space that way.

Camping spots are close to bathrooms (flushable), showers and restaurant! We are surrounded by wildlife, with deer on the lawn, wild turkeys wandering around, and small lizards rustling through the leaves. Some sites are more secluded than others, but secluded sites do require hiking a short distance uphill.

**Please take note that this is a clothing optional space with the pool area being NUDE only.** Everywhere else is clothing-optional, and we encourage folks to dress/undress to their level of comfort.

All guests must check in and register at the office, which is open Sunday-Thursday 9am-5pm and Friday-Saturday 9am-7pm.  Be sure to hand in your key to the reservation window at 11am at check out!

Sauna was not working but we met such lovely people out disappointment faded. Very Laidback vibes. The Qi gong class on Sunday with Michael was suburb. Can’t wait to go back

We camped as a family (2 parents and a 4-year-old daughter) and had a lovely time at Lupin Lodge! We were surprised by the amenities--the kitchen had everything we needed, the pool was big enough for lap swimming, the playground kept our daughter busy, and the trails were peaceful and well-maintained.

My first night I set up my tent on one of the wooden platforms on the hillside. These sites are fairly close together and other campers (residents?) in nearby yurts were partying after 11pm, and a nearby tent site had set up a bright spinning multicolored light I haven't seen since Burning Man.

Two of my friends were planning to join me to relax and camp the following night, but I packed up my tent and planned to tell them it wasn't worth it. Upon leaving I learned that I could set up my tent in a beautiful isolated grassy area near the "Nudome" event space. Since there weren't any events in the Nudome scheduled, my friends and I set up camp nearby and looked forward to a peaceful night. We went to the hot tub at sunset to find a worker testing the water and a crowd waiting to use it. He said that really only 6 people should be in it at a time, so we didn't even get to go in it. The hot tub is surprisingly small for how much capacity the rest of the property has.

We went to sleep and were awoken at midnight by very loud music coming from the Nudome. I checked the website for quiet hours or camphost info but couldn't find anything. Shortly after, I saw someone walking into the Nudome so I asked him to please turn down the music. He was inebriated and barely coherent and trying to figure out where he was going. The music got quieter temporarily but at 2am it was blasting again. I had to pound on the door for them to eventually hear me and was greeted by a confrontational lady who was trying to debate how loud her music could be at 2am. It continued through the night and we just wanted to pack up and find a hotel, but figured we shouldn't have to since we already paid $169 for the three of us to sleep in a tent. At 4am we had to listen to another guest cruising into the Nudome and talk very loudly about his sexuality. Around 4:30am we finally got to sleep and woke up just before checkout time at 11am.

We expressed our frustrations to the front desk and explained how the "Behavior Standards" on the website are not enforced, we were not given any camp host contact info, and they need to lock the Nudome door. The assistant manager gave me her phone number and email but I have not received a response to my voicemail or email I sent more than a week ago. Our stay was ruined by other guests breaking most of the Behavior Standards, but the staff brushed it off as "Oh we can't control guests behavior. It's a holiday weekend."

A great spot! Not the calmest at night but if you're looking for fun and nice people, you won't be disappointed. The shared kitchen is well supplied, the restaurant is homey, and the hot tub was up and running.

To be clear, you will see naked people if the weather permits. You don't have to be naked yourself but it's best if you come with that expectation. If you don't want to be nude or see nude people, choose another place that's cheaper!

Lupin's Lodge is a hidden gem! I came here for my birthday getaway and it was an extremely freeing experience. Actually, I brought too many clothes.

The yurts are super nice and worth the extra money.
