Awesome spot to set up camp
Chill, friendly, helpful and accommodating. Fire in the fire pit. Nice grassy area by the hammock and rope swing to set up camp. Relaxed in the hot-tub. Cool house cat 🐈⬛ hangin around. Bonus food treats from the hosts. Nice hot shower before hitting the road. Good times all around.
***a true gem***
This place was GREAT!!! The hosts are extremely nice, kind, and thoughtful. They exceeded our expectations in every way. Bathrooms and showers were extremely clean and stocked with everything you could possibly need for a camping trip. We will be returning many times in the future. I cannot express enough how far above and beyond the hosts went to make our stay there comfortable & relaxing!!!
Lovely and quiet
The campsite was wonderful -- the named host, Kat was out of town when we arrived and her husband Steve helped us out. He was very kind; we got to camp at about 9:30pm when it was already dark and chilly out and Steve brought a fire pit, wood and tinder, chairs, and a table to our tent for us and offered anything we could possibly need. In the mornings, Steve baked my campmate and I fresh breakfast and offered us further breakfast if we wanted.
The property is lovely, quiet, and secluded with wonderful night views of the stars and wildlife including owls and foxes. We also had a regular visitor in the house cat who was happy to lay next to our fire. The bathroom accessible to guests was easy to get to and served wonderfully to give us a base at our camp with good water pressure.
Overall, our stay was exactly what we needed and I recommend the property.
Delightful, friendly, quiet spot.
Kat (and her husband Steve) gave us a wonderful spot, on the lawn to the side of their house. This was the first Hipcamp experience for them, and for us.
Kat gave us the choice of a few spots. (Note that the map of the sites is not correct, which she will fix.) We opted for the shadiest spot, as it was still summer in the Sacramento area, where we once lived, and the highs were in the mid-90s. However, they get the "Delta Breeze," almost every night, so it cools down after sunset. Our two dogs were able to roam around, which they loved.
While we weren't at the site with the sewer hookup, we did have water and power, and were able to run the air conditioner and microwave in our A-frame trailer (just not at the same time, as only the sunny full-hookup site has 50 Amps).
One of the nicest features is the bathroom (with shower) & laundry room at the side of their house, directly accessible any time from a side door. Because of that, one could camp there with just a tent. We were able to empty our trailer's "cassette toilet."
"Farm Land with Oaks" is on a 5-acre parcel surrounded by 5-acre parcels, and a lot of the neighbors have cattle, horses, and/or chickens. It's far enough away from dense population that it is VERY quiet at night, and there are lots of stars. Be advised that it's a 20-minute or so drive to major stores, and can be 45 minutes from Sacramento's major attractions, like the California State Railroad Museum (https://www.californiarailroad.museum/), depending on traffic.
One of the coolest nearby places to visit is the 50,000 acre Cosumnes River Preserve (https://www.cosumnes.org/).
From now on, we'll stay at Farm Land with Oaks every time we visit the Sacramento area!
