WE WERE NOT BURNED OUT IN THE LAVA FIRE!!! SO GRATEFUL! It will be a bit burnt out as you drive in but once in your campsite you cannot see much if any of the burned area. This property is located just off the Volcanic Legacy Hwy 97 about 7 miles north of Weed, CA. Mount Shasta in full view all year round. There is a large snow mobile park about 15 miles further up Hwy 9
There is a large snow mobile park about 15 miles further up Hwy 97 that offers groomed trails in the winter and horseback riding paradise in the spring summer and fall. You must bring your own horse. I have limited unsheltered open chapparal electric fenced paddocks for boarding horses as well. You will have the shade of two large ponderosa trees in the morning and afternoon and a picnic table at Campsite #1 as well as a drive through circular driveway. Campsite #1 is closest to the hay barn, host, horses and portapotty. Campsite #2 and #3 have a picnic table and full drive through circular driveways with open high desert chapparal. All campsites have full unobstructed views of Mt Shasta and surrounding ridges, "whaleback", "haystacks", 'sheep's rock". NO OUTSIDE FIRES of any kind are allowed June 1-Sept 1, 2021. I have water available most of the time from a large 2500 gal water tank and hose. There is a portapotty service on the property by the haybarn. Please pack all trash out. The city of Mount Shasta is approximately 20 miles south. The city of Weed is approximately 7 miles south. Yreka is 20 miles north on I5.

Basic place to explore mt. shasta!
FOGGY! But good. needed a last minute place to stay and 'doing a nomadland' in a Walmart parking lot off I-5 felt not quite right. Trusty Hipcamp came through with a safe place for the night at Juniper. I imagine this is a wonderful place to spend time exploring Mt. Shasta. Basic - just a portapotty - but well-appointed - picnic table, level ground - 3 spots in ranch land. Very responsive and clear communication.
Stunning, expansive views
A beautiful, quiet property with stunning views. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and the openness of the space. So easy to communicate with our host and access the property too.
Sensational shasta scenery
Peaceful and majestic! We met the host by chance on our arrival. She was pleasant and welcoming. We were traveling in a van with a big dog. Our pup was welcome too, and host ensured her dogs were contained to avoid any canine confrontations. The view of Mt Shasta and surroundings are spectacular! Easy directions and access from highway without road noice. Safe and quiet.
This site is overpriced even though quiet and private. The porta- potty and running water were too far away from site 3 and sites were not marked. We did sleep well and appreciated the quietness.
We camped at Juniper spur ranch for just one night passing through! It was worth for the exclusivity and unobstructed views. I wish we could have stayed longer! We arrived just at sunset so finding our campsite in minimal light was a little tricky but Patrice was quick to lead us in the right direction! We were pulling a 16ft travel camper and didn’t have an issues getting around. Patrice was ab excellent host with great communication but let us keep to ourselves. 10/10 would recommend!
