Description

We bet that any honeymoon spent at this high elevation (7,000 feet!) campground will be a huge success. Forgot the wine and cheese? You’re just 8 miles from Bridgeport, California. Not sure what to do when you wake up? Check out the Twin Lakes area--just 2 miles away, where voyagers go to boat, fish, hike, and giddyup on all fours. Which spot to camp at? The campground is divided into two loops on either side of Twin Lakes Road. The west side is partially shaded by Jeffrey and lodgepole pines, and the east loop is more open, with only a few pines in the area. Either way you can’t go wrong at a campground with such a spellbinding name, and even more swoon-worthy sights.

My favorite campsite as i've been going since a child, half of the campground is gravel and exposed, the other half is shaded and pavement, also has the camp host (had both great and terrible experiences with them). Books out early, and the weather in the Sierra changes rapidly. Been here for 90 degree Septembers and snowy July's. Also wildlife is very active here, and there is no cell signal. Campground has running spring water on tap (Best ever), river, fire pit, picnic tables, bear boxes, and pit toilets.
