Safe, welcoming, and lovely!
Sylva and her partner were so lovely! The were extremely kind and welcoming. Their property is beautiful and it felt safe and private. We had a great time and we will definitely be visiting again!
Beautiful land, great hosts!
We had a very peaceful stay. Sylva is very nice and accommodating. Melones lake is close and nearby is Angels Camp, a quaint little town with a logging museum. The stars shine bright at night and there’s plenty of firewood for the pits. Lots of grass and shade trees. Beautiful huge oaks. So whether you need a quick overnight spot or a week near the lakes you’ll enjoy your time with Sylva One Love Santcuary.
Relaxing stay beneath the oaks
Beautiful location with meadows, oak trees, and gentle hills. We stayed at the lower site, which was large and we chose a nearly level spot under some live oaks for our tent. You can conveniently park in the open area and in the center is a fire pit. Wood was provided and we cut more from a pile of oak branches by the pit. The host's were very welcoming upon our arrival and then allowed us privacy throughout our stay.
There are other properties all around so there was some noise in the distance from dogs, off-road vehicles, and shooting practice during the day. But at night it was a natural soundtrack that we enjoyed - we heard coyotes, owls calling and hooting, bats chirping, and wild turkeys gobbling. Beautiful stargazing at night too.
Winter is CA peak tick season so be sure to tuck your pants into your socks and check dogs frequently, especially if you enjoy walking through the grassy hills. We took many off our dogs before they bit but had to pull out a few. Best to bring a "tick tornado" or similar tick remover.
We had a very relaxing and fun camping trip at this conveniently located, fairly private, and gorgeous location!
