Our campground overlooks a beautiful valley and the Berriessa Ridge Mountains.. There are camping decks as well as cushy camping spots directly on the ground for those who want to "ground." The campground has stunning views towards the east—mountains with a sweeping valley view in the foreground from pretty much every camping spot. Outrageously great sunrises and sunsets, as well as moonrises! Great place to watch meteor showers!!
The outdoor community kitchen and fire ring is available for use, complete with refrigeration, triple sink with running water and plenty of dishes to use. Outdoor shower with hot water and great pressure, as well as an outdoor claw-foot bath tub in the woods, clean well water with NO CHEMICALS ADDED! Lovely if you are used to city water with chlorine.
Community Farmhouse has access from 8am to 9pm for wifi, showers and bath, reading library, and just hanging out by the fireplace or swamp cooler. Generally there are guests and volunteers year-round, which makes for interesting visits since these folks come from all over the US and abroad.
This is a working permaculture farm and you will encounter chickens, beautiful gardens, and interesting projects in progress, including several sculpted cob structures and a small pallet house made from award-winning design plans, and coated with gorgeous earthen plaster over cob.

Unreal nights, under all the stars!
Two of us had an amazing time on Brenda’s farm! From the warm welcome from Brenda and Buddy upon arrival, to the two dozen delicious, still-warm-from-being-in-the-chicken eggs that came home upon departure, everything was incredible.
Brenda was a great host, while still shaking off the rust from being shuddered for the COVID era. She was generous with her time, knowledge of the area, and any resources needed during our three nights with her.
The night sky was simply dazzling!! Horizon-to-horizon, nothing but stars!
Buddy was such a sweet lil addition to the farm while diligently keeping us all safe. Two nights he slept outside my tent door at least until I fell asleep. Also, he has quite an exciting backstory!
Proximity to Harbin Hot Springs (worth googling it).
Plenty of delicious potable water and a fridge onsite.
An entire menu of herbal remedies and tinctures available, lovingly crafted by Brenda herself.
(Not exactly) Cons:
Very rocky terrain. Footwear always needed to walk the property. Consider bringing maybe a rubber-backed rug or mat for outside the tent door
Not the entire campground kitchen was functional when we were there, no working stove.
Complete fire ban. Obviously, not Brenda’s fault and SUPER important, but would’ve been nice as the temp (thankfully) does drop over night.
Overall, this was a fantastic experience that I recommend for anyone.
PRO TIP: Ask Brenda about The Punchbowl
Don’t just go to Napa, go a little bit north and experience Middletown and Hidden Valley!
Easy and comfortable tent platforms for a level nights sleep. Listen to coyotes, turkeys, roosters and horses. See the stars and enjoy the Northern California farm stead.
Off the beaten path "rustic" vibes
We enjoyed staying here primarily for the location, amazing sunrises and general quietness. Brenda and her son were lovely hosts, and really went above and beyond when our rental car needed a jump start! Buddy was an excellent watch dog, very cute and sleeping near our tents to watch out for rogue coyotes and deer!
Although it's great to have a fridge, stove and running water in the communal kitchen, it's overall definitely on the more rustic end of the camping scale compared to some other permaculture farms we've stayed at, and I think that is reflected in the price. Luckily we were the only ones here for most of our stay as the other pitches are quite close by. The compost toilet was really grim... We didn't use the outdoor shower opting to go to the hot springs nearby instead - which I'd highly recommend! But on the positive side, stargazing and clean air was great.
FYI The road to get to this site is very rough with lots of potholes (and wild deer/turkeys roaming!) so would advise arriving before dark. We managed in our compact car fine, but you gotta take your time, and trust Brenda's directions (not GPS!)
Had some mixed feelings about the site overall. Felt as though the photos were a little misleading. The sites are all named differently but are all located in one area. It's pretty much an open plot with 5 planks to pitch your tent. There was a communal outhouse, fridge and kitchen area. Due to fire safety we were required to cook within this space. This would be okay in normal circumstances, but during covid made me a little uneasy.
Brenda was very friendly and provided nice suggestions of where to hike/chill during the day. I was very happy to get off the campsite and find some secluded space since there were 15 or so people crammed into this space.
Happy hippy site!
Nice little slice of hippy beauty off the beaten track. There were a few hiccups with water pressure but there was cute tub outside and a working outdoor shower. Certainly more rugged than glamping, but that’s the way I like it! The stars were absolutely gorgeous!
Brenda was a sweetie and had great eggs and greens for sale. Buddy the dog slept next to my tent and protected me from deer in the night. Make sure to have Brenda tell you about a nearby secret waterfall, it was a real treat!
Blue big sky and mellow vibes
I was so thankful for sweet Brenda and HipCamp overall to help me and my honey find a secluded camping location in a favorite part of California. The days were very hot as expected for this time of year, so our host’s suggestions to connect with local waterholes was on point. We visited nearby Hidden Valley Lake. The evening time was really the most special, as the stars were popping everywhere out of the big night sky! We stargazed for hours!
Our new favorite spot!
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this campsite. We felt very at peace surrounded by nature and were stoked with the view of the Berryessa Mountains. Seriously, the view is breathtaking to have right outside of your tent! There are lots of notable places to hike and explore nearby, making this an excellent spot to post up. Brenda was a super friendly host, and also gave us space and time to ourselves. What struck us the most was how quiet it was - we didn't hear a single airplane during our entire stay! Oh, and the place was easily accessible by our Toyota Corolla. We will be back!
