Nice hidden gem
Great place to camp for families with kids. Very family and kids friendly. Folks are respectful and just having fun. I don’t know who is who but every person worked at the site that we met are very friendly. My family will definitely come back.
BTW. The bull frogs are not as bad as described by some other reviewers. I bought ear plugs for my party and no one used them. Now I have 50 pairs of ear plugs.
The fallen oak log creates a natural aesthetic boundary from site to site.
The fishing was good, caught a few nice bass, while my teenage boys basked in the sun on the lake. Weekend was topped w a real good burger (food is best when 'Frank' cooks it :-)
Will always come here ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Will definitely come again...
This is the best campsite I ever seen after Minnesota . I took my big family for the weekend . April 2-5 booked 3 site next to each other . It is so clean , green grass and restroom was so close and there were multiple faucet with little bucket to carry out the water to your site. I am very happy to meet the Finnon herself. Very sweet and she maintain all the campsite well enough ... we were next to the lake A15,T17&T19 ... kids had so much fun at the lake. Love the nature within the campsite. Although you will hear loud frog sound just like sound machine all night. Morning you will hear lots of birds and geese sound...... love love love ..... WARNING!!!! driving up was very scary thought it was steep uphill and there was a bridge before you get to the uphill. We took suburu, Venza, and truck so it was fine uphill. But trailer you can’t take the same route so must read the instruction from Finnon as you reserve the site with details....
Trailers beware, but great location
Just for reference, this was our first trip with our 24' travel trailer. The path up here was a bit precarious with the 1 1/2 lane road for the last 9 miles up Rock Creek Road. Aside from that once you get here it's beautiful. Great waterfront views from site A15, decent spacing between sites & clean facilities. There's a nice walking trail on the perimeter of the lake. The folks at Franks Diner are very nice & helpful.
