If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Soooo beautiful and peaceful and quiet. I loved the water and the ducks. Some geese flew over too! Such a nice little spot to stay, and close. I’ve lived here for wars and never knew this was here.
Wish our stay there was longer!
Immediately upon arrival we were awestruck by the scenery. Deer and squirrels came to the waters edge to share a drink. The host came to greet us and was very nice and then gave us privacy.
We set up camp and took our Canoe out on Finnon Lake and got to admire several types of birds. Mallards, Geese, a Crane and other smaller varieties. Another family there caught a small bass and we got to see a Gopher making tunnels by our tent - so cute.
The water was the perfect temperature for a swim and that I did. I recommend entering and exiting at the sandy “public” beach as the one on our site had a ton of algae to get through.
At night the fire department made their rounds to ensure everyone was following the fire ban which we greatly appreciate - seeing so many burnt forests in CA was heartbreaking so we were thankful that the first responders were being proactive.
Also at night, the Ducks and Geese will likely sing the entire time. This was enough to keep a heavy sleeper awake but happily so.
It should be noted that the bathrooms were clean, clean, clean! We appreciated that a lot!
We will definitely make a trip back from Eastern Washington again some day!
Beautiful & serene
This spot is exactly as the pictures show. What a beautiful place. The hosts were wonderful. The lake was perfect for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and paddle boards. There was the Caldor fire going on which was not far and the host kept us updated everyday. Bathrooms were nice and clean too. There is a bald eagle that nests in the tree close by across the lake. We got to see it swoop down and pick up a fish. All the lake spots are very nice.
Seen better days
Oh boy ! It was way out there in the mountains area. It had nice sincere . But really windy at times. We left a day early . Winds started to pick up too .horrible roads to get to camp grounds..my msses said we won't return to this camp grounds.
Great lake camping, clean faclities
Stayed at A1 camp site. Great site, but little tree cover, sun shines down on you from sunrise to sunset. Bring an awning with a backing to block some of this. Ground isn't that flat, there is a spot, but it a bit indented, if it should rain it will act like a mini wash basin; also close to the other site so you can hear your neighbors argue (very annoying - but young immature profanity infused love huh?) Gophers, cute but be careful where you put your camp chair you may fall over when one leg collapses when that part caves in. Calm sights and sounds of wild life, including a bald eagle pair and their nest. Walking around site was great too.
We LOVE this campground!!!!! It is very clean, quiet and simply gorgeous! We have been there 3 times within the last 6 months and are booked again for July. It is very peaceful. There is a walking trail around the lake which is a must. Frank’s Diner is fabulous! Frank himself cooks and greats every guest with respect and open arms. He is very accommodating.
The camp hosts were so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was very special. The bathrooms were very clean and stocked at all times.
Our favorite part was an Eagles 🦅 nest that we could see with our bare eyes across the lake. We were able to watch them hunt, feed their babies and fly all around several times a day. There are 3 eaglets that were born the beginning of April. We took binoculars and a spot scope with us. (a must for everyone). I have no words on how extraordinary it was to experience them.
We feel so blessed to have found this pristine piece of heaven. Would I give it 5 stars??? Nope......10!!!!!
To top it off, it’s only 1 hour from our home.
