Back your self-contained RV, Conversion Van, or Trailer into a secluded site in our 20 acre walnut grove. We are nestled in the village of Ballard and in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley. Walking distance to two Tasting Rooms, as well as an award winning restaurant! The site includes a bistro table, wooden picnic table, fire pit with 3-4 pieces of seasoned firewood (add-on additional bundles available for $10), and bench-swing, all surrounded by lovely lighting (we will also throw in a delicious treat for both our guests and their doggies) . This is for self-contained units that will back-in, as there is not room to turn around. * Note that the trees lose their leaves in the winter and will leaf-out in late May. This may affect sound barrier and privacy a bit. We also offer a second site in the Grove, which accommodates larger RV's with up to 6 people (called "Lovely Walnut Grove for RV Camper" - which has a larger area, picnic table, fire pit, corn hole, complimentary candied walnuts). The two sites are 200 yards apart (that's two football fields) assuring your privacy.  Please note in your request what you will be traveling in (RV, Trailer, Sprinter, etc). (** Please note that because we are a food-producing farm, we are only allowed to accept fully self-contained units (with built-in water and waste water tanks - sorry, no portable toilets ). No tents unless they are accompanying a self contained RV).

The grove is magical. We were just talking about how easy it would be to spend a week here. We tried site #2 this time more towards the back of the ;property and we really liked the seclusion. This place is a stones throw from world class food and wine. Ridiculously affordable. But the best is the hospitality and energy that Mike and Anne bring. We are regulars and will continue to return. Thank you for the Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies. THE BEST!!!!

This place is awesome, a must go! I hesitate to write such an amazing review for fear that all of you campers will find out how great it is and it will be booked! Upon arrival, we were pleased to see how private it is. There are only 2 site but they are very far from each other. There were home made walnut cookies, doggie treats for our pup and firewood waiting for us. There is also a swing bench, fire pit several chairs and tables as well as a picnic table with umbrella. They place was spotless. The area around the camping spot is covered in wood chips so it feels clean and not dusty. There is tons to do in the area especially if you like wine tasting. We brought our electric bikes and cruised all around the area. Thanks for a great weekend!

We really enjoyed our stay in the Walnut Grove. My wife and I chose to stay here for our anniversary and it could have not been more perfect. When we arrived, we quickly set up camp which was super easy as the site was roomy, level, and clean. Just after setting up Mike stopped by to bring us some delicious walnut chocolate chip cookies and to make sure we settled in okay. After setting up camp we road our bikes to the two closest wineries (which were less than a 5 minute ride). After some excellent wine tasting we got cleaned up and we’re also able to do a quick ride for a nice dinner at The Gathering Table. As we road back into our camp site that night we were welcomed by some nice string lights outlining the site. We spent the rest of the evening sitting around the provided fire pit and fire wood. Highly recommend this hipcamp. We will definitely be back and hope to stay more than one night.

It was a fabulous stay from start to finish. The orchard is very special, there is another camp site on the farm which was occupied but so far from us it was like we were alone in the orchard. Walk to the Ballard Inn was quaint thru the neighborhood and super easy using the gate in the opposite side of the property.
They have a farm stand at the entrance which was perfectly outfitted with fresh picked produce from the farm using the honor donation system. I would highly recommend this place. Miniature horse farm across the street (would use the front gate) to view them up close. The road was kinda busy and we made the mistake of walking it from the bakery in Ballard. Enjoy this gem, it’s really cool and the owners are so nice!

Location was amazing! Just a quick walk from the miniature pony farm across the street. Gathering Table restaurant is a 2 min drive and lovely. Mike was great and greeted us with cookies! It was also really fun to watch the fog roll in at night. Overall a great experience! Thanks!

We highly recommend staying at the the Secluded Walnut Grove campsite. We were there in our 25’ fifth wheel. Any size RV would fit in these sites. The site was perfect with tables, a swing, fire pit and solar lights to help us enjoy the afternoon and evening. We were able to run the generator as much as we wanted to. Anne was a very gracious host and offered any help that we needed. She also brought us very yummy walnut chocolate chip cookies. In the evening we took a walk around the grove and met a few more family members who taught us a lot about farming the walnut grove. We would definitely stay there again when we’re in the area.

Thank you Mike and Anne for your hospitality. We enjoyed our two nights in your orchard. We saw night skies like in our home state of Utah and jackrabbits too! We loved the location central to many wineries. Best regards from D&H and Lucy too.
